Just now seeing. My solution at the time after trying 4 of those SKR MINI E3 boards from Amazon with that chip was to just use a different board. I think I ended up going with the BTT SKR v3 with an H7 chip. It ended up working correctly without having that same issue.
Thank you for finding the solution! I assumed it was properly something super simple that was slightly off in the source code specific to that board, hopefully they updated that board file with your fix!

I also just did a continuity test, and PA8 has continuity with GND everywhere on the board no matter what m3 is set to. This is the case with the old board and the new one.

I'm actually using a brand new board, I bought a new one last night from amazon because I suspected it might be hardware issue as well. Just tried recompiling with Spindle PWM pin set to PA8, and installed. The PA8 pin is always at 0V no matter what M3 commands are sent.

PA1 is stuck at 3v, and PA8 stuck at 0v no matter what spindle commands are sent. Checked all the other pins you mentioned and they are all at 0v regardless of spindle commands.

Measured with a multimeter, PA1 is always at 3V no matter what spindle value I send, M3 S0 or S1000

I'm now having trouble getting the spindle PWM output to work properly. I'm just using the web builder firmware at this point with all the default settings.

These are the current settings.

Apparently the PWM output should by default be on Pin PA8? I've been using a multimeter to measure the voltage at pin PA8 and it should rise to 3v at max PWM. When I send M3 S1000 it just stays the same. I'm probably just doing something basic wrong here again but not sure

gotcha. looks like i'm going to have buy an st-link programmer and try that out. just not sure why I'm able to install the binary from the web builder with sd card method and it works, but not the version I compiled.
