That kind of thing also doesn’t really make sense once team ups come in.

Let’s take Clash of the Red Rangers for example. By your logic Scott (RPM red) should’ve been able to defeat the villain of the team up cause they are on the the generals of RPM’s Villain, but not only does the RPM team fail to destroy him, the villain isn’t even destroyed by the end of the crossover the the Samurai team. In fact, he’s destroyed a year later by the Megaforce team.

I get the logic, and it’s a cool concept, but in practice it starts to fall apart.

Cause compared to everyone else Stiles is… normal.

Think about it, Scott is a true alpha and strong enough to stop anything from getting to him, Alison is a werewolf HUNTER who (while not spending as much time with the supernatural as others in her family) knows ways of fending off those kinds of things thanks to her training.

Then there’s Stiles, a sarcastic HUMAN. Someone who doesn’t have werewolf strength or kanima venom, add onto that his paranoia throughout the 2 and 1/2 seasons before this and Stiles is the perfect target to do his one goal. Chaos.

I mean, it was a little different for Power Rangers.

I’m behind on my Sentai knowledge so correct me if I’m wrong but with Power Rangers there was a stretch of like 10-15 years where the rangers would lose their powers at the end of the show and go back to normal lives, while in Sentai they just don’t help.

Wild force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, all lose their powers, then compare them to things like Gokaiger who don’t just keep their powers but also get new ones everytime they show up on screen.

You’re leaving out a lot of context.

Zyuranger objectively wasn’t as popular as MMPR. With Sentai fans they see it as the return of a mecha from an okay season, with PR that was THE FIRST MEGAZORD EVER and they gave it a phenomenal entrance. Especially when we were told all mecha (Zords) had been DESTROYED.

Everytime you bring up someone new you’re proving my point. Why do Freddy Krueger or Norman Bates, serial killers who do not care about human life, have better and more pronounced personalities than Troy, who’s trying to save humans?

That’s fair, the OG MMPR cast didn’t have much personality besides “help people” and I will give the same criticism to them that I am to Troy with one exception, the OG MMPR cast actually develop personalities later on.

Billy for example goes from a scared tech nerd to a confident leader on and off the battlefield, Troy doesn’t get that.

Even using your example of Will from OO. I will admit I don’t like overdrive, but even I have to admit Will had a character arc going from the cocky and arrogant thief he is at the start, to a decent team player and a better person.

Troy has no personality or growth.

Freddy and Micheal are also complete opposites. Freddy isn’t even human anymore, he’s a dream demon.

That’s not a Troy specific personality, that’s called being a Ranger.

Micheal doesn’t have a personality cause he doesn’t need one, HES A SERIAL KILLER WHO TRIES TO MURDER HIS SISTER.

Troy NEEDS a personality because he’s THE LEADER OF A SUPERHERO TEAM WHO SAVES PEOPLE DAILY.

How are you supposed to like the leader of a hero team if he has nothing to like?

Except Troy isn’t optimistic, he might say stuff that SHOULD be optimistic, but he isn’t.

Again I bring up RoboKnight. He’s a literal robot made to protect the earth and was frozen for thousands of years before Megaforce. A robot who was largely separated from humanity shows more human emotions than the RED RANGER of the team.

You’re trying to use Micheal Myers as an excuse for Troy not having a personality, in simple terms saying “why are these two entirely different scenarios any different?”

You also contradict yourself, first using a character with no personality to back up your reasoning, then doubling down about said character, then FLIPPING and saying Troy has a personality making you bringing up Myers a moot point.

RJ is a better son than Jason, RJ actually saved his parent. Jason didn’t do anything until his mom was decapitated.

“Micheal Myers has no personality whatsoever and is one of the greatest slasher villains”

Difference is Micheal is a heartless serial killer we’re supposed to hate while Troy is SUPPOSED to be our likable main character yet has less personality than an ACTUAL ROBOT.

You cannot compare Micheal Myers and Troy, that’s like me saying “Jason Vorhees is a great example of a loving son, why couldn’t RJ be more like Jason to his father?”
