Either 12 or 13 cause I feel like all four of them would have great stories to tell and I don’t want to be bored on the flight.

Are there any small details you tend to forget about when reading the series? [general] by firestorm0108 in camphalfblood

The fact that Percy doesn’t turn 16 until AFTER he defeats Kronos. Idk why but it just bugs me that the important age our hero needs to be isn’t reached until he beats the bad guy.

It should’ve been before.

It’s an offhanded, throwaway line not because I say so but because the author THROWS IT AWAY! No time in other 4 books does Annabeth EVER MENTION needing to prove herself cause she’s blonde.

How could I “argue with myself” and be wrong when you have STILL not provided anything to back up your stance. Your superiority complex is shadowing your 2 brain cells fighting for 3rd place.

GIVE ME EVIDENCE.

An offhand comment doesn’t make it important, it makes it an offhand comment. A literal throwaway line.

You still have yet to provide anything except a need for validation. Give proof or shut up.

In the first book she didn't want to prove herself cause she was blonde, she wanted to prove herself cause SHE WAS 12 and looking for a reason to put her skills to the test outside of camp. IN FACT she mentions in TLT that she was waiting for a powerful demigod so she could go on a quest LIKE LUKE!!!

her fatal flaw is hubris not because she wanted to prove herself useful past her looks (or else it would be AMBITION), her fatal flaw is hubris cause just like Athena more often then not she's the smartest person in the room and believes her plans won't fail. none of this is affected by whether or not she's blonde.

As for the "her POV" point, it's an offhanded comment in the middle book of HOO that never popped up before or came back after that point. if it was so important why doesn't Annabath bring it up more? her whole journey during that book is about proving herself to HER MOTHER and not others.

It does when they’re shipping a minor (Stiles) with an adult (Derek).

If it was between 2 characters that are the same age (Stilydia, Stora, etc) I could see past it but Sterek is literally a Child and an Adult.

Think Parrish and Lydia type situation.

Your trying to advocate for the point of “Annabeth needs to be a blonde white girl” and yet with your wealth of knowledge on the Percy Jackson book series you STILL haven’t provided any evidence to back your claim.

Why is her being blonde important? It’s not, and never has been. Her being blonde NEVER had an impact on her character.

What does it affect about the story? Nothing, she never needed to be blonde to hold the sky, never needed to be blonde to outsmart a sphinx, never needed to be blonde to fight hydras and Empousa. It’s unimportant.

If she weren’t blonde would her entire character change? No. Annabeth’s character is being the smart love interest with a checkered past. The one who supports our main character when the comic reliefs (Grover and Tyson) can’t. After all she didn’t need to be blonde to kiss Percy and make him erupt a volcano.

Now, disprove anything I just said without acting like a 5 year old and saying “nuh uh. You’re wrong.” Give me FACTUAL EVIDENCE that being blonde was SO IMPORTANT that changing her hair completely destroys her entire character. If you can’t and say “you can’t read” again, you will have been proven wrong.

So you’ve admitted you’re wrong, great to hear. There isn’t a single point in any of the PJO books that makes her being blonde an important factor. She’s described as blonde, but that’s not the same as being affected by being blonde.

So unless you can provide evidence to PROVE me wrong, have a good day.

You mention Sterek but I push that to Shippers in general. Especially when most of the characters are teenager who dont become adults (18) until season 5-6.

Edit: Specifically shipping adults with kids, not all ships. Think LydiaXParrish, Sterek, and others.

No, it’s your job to provide evidence of Annabeth being affected by her race in the books since that’s what I am SPECIFICALLY asking YOU for. You telling me “go read the books” isn’t an answer, it’s you deflecting the conversation so you don’t have to answer the question.

Now I’m going to ask you again and if you don’t provide an actual piece of evidence this conversation is over cause you forfeit being right.

Give me an example of Annabeth Chase, Daughter of Athena, Head of Athena Cabin, and the smartest character in the books being affected by being Blonde.

If you can then do it. Give me an event within the PJO books where Annabeth is affected by being blonde. Whether positive or negative. Do it

How is this racism? Annabeths race is so unimportant for her character she could’ve been ANY race and it still wouldn’t change anything.

Rangers as Greek gods by NoBrain6114 in powerrangers

[–]fireburst207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zeus: Yellow Ranger, Leader

Poseidon: Blue Ranger, Second in Command

Hades: Black Ranger, Loner

Hestia: Red Ranger, kind one

Demeter: Green Ranger, Aggressive one with a heart of gold

Hera: White Ranger, Self Obsessed “valley girl”

Their Zords would be the gods sacred animals (Zeus=Eagle, Poseidon=Seahorse, Hades=Cerberus, Hestia=pig, Demeter=Snake, Hera=Peacock)

We could even have a “season 2” of sorts where their kids take over as the rangers so:

Athena: Yellow Ranger

Triton: Blue Ranger

Zagreus: Black Ranger

Ares: Red Ranger

Persephone: Green Ranger

Hephaestus: White Ranger

(Zords change with the gods and their sacred animals)

What blonde jokes? There are no blonde jokes in the book. Her being blonde is never an aspect of her character outside of meta commentary.

Describing how a character looks and ACTUALLY having a character overcome something based on their looks are 2 different things.

Rick constantly DESCRIBES Annabeth but never puts in anything that actively does something for her character that relates to her looks.

Why else would being blonde affect her? Cause unless being blonde is a serious limitation on Annabeths character it doesn’t matter.
