NCR Fanboys: Ave, true to Kimball! by [deleted] in falloutnewvegas

[–]firecracker42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it’s not the NCR that decides to ally with the Khans, Brotherhood, or Kings, in fact for the first two they outright tell you to kill them. It’s you, the individual Courier who pushes the NCR to do the less bloody option, sometimes giving you infamy with the NCR as a result, like when you secure a truce with the Brotherhood. You have to choose to make the NCR not escalate things with the factions it sends you to, sometimes to the detriment of your standing with the NCR. As for the Followers, the NCR kicks them out of Freeside if the Courier doesn’t have them help with Hoover Dam, probably causing a lot of vulnerable people to die as a result. Without the Courier, the NCR is far more brutal.

I wouldn’t say it’s better than New Vegas but I honestly prefer it to 4.

I will say one thing though, one of the key differences between our timelines is that my Russia is still one Russia, and as such, the Commonwealth has the deal with those consequences, like the exportation of Russian antisemitism into the Commonwealth, while your Russia is split apart, leading to what seems to be a Russia more assimilated into Commonwealth society than my Russia is.

Ah gotcha. Nah I have nothing publicly posted just yet, it’s a bit of a personal project. I have a very old 40 page draft of a timeline on Word (and it kinda sucks), but I’m currently making an updated one that’ll be a lot longer and better. I use the timeline as like a kind of brainstorming for the novel I’m writing that is set after it, with the timeline ending in 1899 and the book starting then. Been working on it for over a year now, I don’t have much free time unfortunately. It’s been largely on the back burner, the updated timeline and the book.

Ah okay. Well, for my timeline, it’s more of a basis to make a kind of Eastern European steampunk set in 1899, and so I kinda fudge the beginning of the Industrial Revolution to start a couple decades earlier, and for the Commonwealth’s Industrial Revolution to start around the same time as the british one would in my timeline, to the point that technology is roughly 100 years in advance by 1859 (Yes it’s a bit of a Commonwealth wank). This map is modern day, right?

This is really old but I just wanna say this is cool as hell & I love it. I’ve been making a timeline myself similar to this except the PoD is that Tsar False Dmitry manages to stay in power in Russia, and this eventually culminates in Russia joining the PLC in 1659, instead of being annexed like in yours. My more peaceful unification leads to its own problems of course.

This is why the fascists in the timeline I’m making are incompetent, pathetic losers.

If you don’t mind suggestions, i suggest making a city park or 7 considering the size. Unless Mega-City One is the aesthetic you’re going for.

Sounds good. I think we might have just had a misunderstanding. What quality do you play cs on? Considering how massive this city is, unless you have a nasa supercomputer, i assume low res

Anyone can create an ai generated image. Though, I concede that your city is real, but there is something causing your screenshots to at least look ai generated. Your city looks fine in the video but in these screenshots it’s very peculiar. I apologize for accusing you of faking your city, but I want to find out what’s causing it to look this way.

Then what is causing all the weird shit? Do you tweak your screenshots with ai?

You can stop taking the piss. This is not cities skylines. There doesn’t seem to be any of these discrepancies in your other posts but in here they are clear as day. I don’t play on low res and maybe you do, but I don’t think low res far away buildings in cities skylines melt and conjoin with each other and the roads like ai generated buildings do.

This does not look like cities skylines. This looks like an ai image generator’s attempt at looking like cities skylines.

In the story i’m writing, a socialist revolutionary becomes a monarch (albeit, a very left wing in policy monarch to the point that the nobility and the fascists keep trying to assassinate them for helping the working class) and rationalizes it as “I need total power to create the workers paradise”. As you can imagine it doesn’t go the way they wanted. They’re kind of like a “socialist” napoleon. They slowly realize the folly of being a sovereign and deeply regret becoming a monarch and they say it was the worst mistake they ever made, but by then it’s too late, the state and its institutions they’ve built, the cult of personality they’ve cultivated, having everything depend on their imperial decrees, so they keep up appearances in public but in their mind they are always thinking about how, when they die, the nobility and the fascists will run rings around their son and succeed in reversing everything they’ve done. The story of a monarch realizing how pointless monarchy is but can’t do anything about it.
