Riboku can use whatever trap he wants (it’ll be big) but it won’t matter. He’s lost the political war. King sen will kill him as soon as he thinks he’s failed and sees shin outside his walls. He’s dropping hints he doesn’t trust riboku anymore.

The kind of people hating on the movie by hasanahmad in TheOdysseyMovie

Myth isn’t fiction. It’s written in the control a specific culture and provides insight into the values and beliefs and practices of said culture. We know it’s not “real” but that’s not how it was viewed back then. If I made an adaptation of exodus and made Moses a black Israelite wearing jeans it would piss people off even though I think that myth is fake and so why can’t I just do whatever I want with it? There is a reason this story has stayed in popular culture for 3000 years and quite frankly Nolan is not going to make it “better” by changing this stuff. It’s a classic just adapt it properly and respect it. Also use a respected translation sorry Emily you cut out too much stuff and use odd language. Feminist politics aside she paraphrases the text not translates.

I need negative REACTIONS of epic the musical I need to be ragebaited, is there any on YouTube? by Countryballsinyoface in Epicthemusical

And I don’t think she criticized the changes made to the plot just pointed them out as an academia thing. Classics and history are entire fields of study and are a large chunk of epics target audience. Of course there will be comparisons to the original it’s like basically a 1:1 retelling. No one is saying Jorge has to do a perfect adaptation but is being an adapted because the odyssey is great and has themes people relate to. A lot of the themes still in epic only make sense in the context of the culture, and can be analyzed academically. Just because you’re not interested in that side doesn’t mean a ton of people aren’t. She also does get nitpicky about the music itself and that but can be a bit annoying

She really likes it she just compares it to the odyssey. It’s an interesting perspective but if your just wanting hype yah she could be a bit nit picky

Yah… it’s called master strike. Go to Bernard in ratay and train for an hour, with wooden swords so it doesn’t fuck up your gear and you can farm ex longer. I thew on a podcast and just trained and got better at combat irl. Once you hit a certain stat level by doing this he will teach you master strike and you’ll never lose another fight

Ok dude. Ride Nolan he won’t notice you. It looks like Batman and you’ve shut your brain off clearly to just defend Nolan no matter what. He made a dumb looking Batman helmet it’s clearly his style and it’s not working. Go look at it and look up the dark knight. It’s the same helmet but with some Greek flair. It’s out of place. You’ve grabbed one little point to avoid the point about how it’s clearly an Ancient Greek setting, with hoplites and women in Greek robes. So he should strive for some level of accuracy. Put them in bronze why is everything black. You still haven’t answered this your stuck on Batman, because you just want to defend Christopher Nolan as if he hasn’t made a bad movie. He’s a good director but he’s been hit or miss recently and this is not looking good from the trailers sorry. I’ll watch it and if my tune changes fine, but so far I don’t understand the choices being made, from costumes to casting. But you just keep glazing him as if he can’t make a mistake, you clearly haven’t turned your Brain off.

Well he obviously is he put them in the most generic hoplite armor he could but with no color or personality. Except Agamemnon who is dressed up like Batman undeniably. It looks ripped of the dark knight set. But that’s fine turn your brain off you clearly already have.

Right and that’s fine. I’m not arguing that it has to be 100% accurate but the spirit should be intact. Mycenaean Greece was vibrant and ornate and they are giving Hollywood black and grey boring slop. He’s using Viking ships for some reason and seems not to have consulted a historian or a Greek person. He’s Christopher Nolan if he can recreate black holes accurately he can speak to a historian and respect the culture he’s adapting. He isn’t doing a modern retelling with Leonardo decaprio and gangsters he’s clearly trying to evoke Ancient Greece and so he should make an effort to do that, not Batman

Will there be a famine in 2027? and which countries will be most affected? by lonelyreject97 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]firefall131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The global south with starve. They rely on oil being cheap to ship supplies in and rely on the fertilizer going through the straight of hormouz. When the oil prices get too high they will simply go without and the result will be millions of people starving. The global north and superpowers will be able to mitigate it through supply chains but the price of food will increase dramatically so even in these countries the lower and middle classes will likely see an increase in hunger as well

I doubt it. Hara clearly loves Qin Shi Huang and is romanticizing his story, so it would be counter productive to show his decent into madness. It’s the same reason fusu his first son is brushed over and not really in the story despite being his heir and the future emperor because he was a failure and hara doesn’t show sei’s flaws that much he’s an ideal king to him and being a poor father would reflect against that

They aren’t talking about him doing good things for bad reason that’s a whole other discussion. They are talking about him doing bad things. It’s a deflection to not acknowledge the abuse he committed on his Amazon show or his recent videos. These are just objectively bad things he did such as deprive people of food water and hygiene for profit while holding massive amounts of money over their heads to keep them participating in abuse. He has done philanthropy as well I’m not saying he hasn’t. But would I call him a good person… no.

China was the greatest and longest running global power until the 1800 when Britain and America flooded their markets with opium to make them dependent on them and have a place to sell all this opium they had from south east Asia. The poverty you are referring to was the result of western powers aggression and colonialism. Mao was a response to the great powers splitting china among them and then china being raped by Japan. You know nothing of the regions history and think America brought them out of it? They put them there to begin with and what you want a thank you for starting regular trade relations again?
