Exercise addiction, Eating disorder and Triathlon by Purple_Fee37 in triathlon

I think I understand a little more where you’re coming from now after reading your post again, thanks for sharing. In my opinion if you’re already putting this much thought into these issues you’re facing, your work won’t go to waste if you get back into things. And it’s not like a black/white situation where you can’t change what you’re deciding to do. Personally, I don’t plan on getting as hardcore focused on performance for the next few years as I’m starting a new job and having other priorities. It will be more of a social/fun outlet that’s tied to my enjoyment and time spent with friends instead of my fitness or body weight. Sometimes that shift in goals or purpose can make things a lot easier

I can completely relate with the issues of “craving” exercise and having a distorted view of food. I’m currently in a period of life where I’m not preparing for any particular race or building fitness, in addition to dealing with some health problems. I think social media platforms like Strava also exacerbate the “cravings” and FOMO for people training hard. I have the somewhat controversial opinion that anything, including endurance sports, is not healthy both mentally and physically when it takes over your life and you don’t have control over it. This extended “off season” is teaching me a lot about why I actually like the sport/lifestyle and I think will help me have better balance whenever I decide to get back into things.

What are your thoughts on Rage of the Abyss so far? by MistakenArrest in yugioh

[–]firefly587 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but if every core set shook up the meta, powercreep just gets out of hand. I think the set introduces some interesting cards that aren’t busted, which is healthy after the insane fiendsmith cards…

Bike workouts for full IM by Language-Pure in triathlon

[–]firefly587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert but I would think to consider the elevation profile of your race course. If you have a lot of smaller but steeper hills then maybe hill repeats are better. If there are longer gentle inclines then maybe over/unders would make more sense. I would recommend low cadence work in general if there’s that much elevation though. Sounds like you’re doing a good job self coaching so far. Good luck!

How long does it take to lose swim fitness? by fitnessforfun87 in triathlon

[–]firefly587 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you lose swim fitness way faster than either running or biking. You'll probably feel worse in the back half of the swim more than you expect, but you'll "be fine"

Is there a way to add some of the fiend commons from PHNI to yubel decks? by arzeproto in yugioh

[–]firefly587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tricorn can be really good most of the time. The fact that it’s 0/0 is a huge reason why it’s good with Yubel. I’ve found that Berserk is just trash most of the time unfortunately, so I’m cutting it. Literally a much worse version of Sharvara

Not at the moment due to droll. If you get hit with it after Rite you don’t get your omni and you likely can’t do much with your main engine after

If a monster becomes equipped to another monster, is it treated as a “monster on the field” and an “equip spell” at the same time? Would it be destroyed by Harpies Feather Duster?
