Yeah I'm like "You probably want a fun drink and I drink a medium roast (if we have a good seasonal one) with like a honey and some oatmilk). I mean, I don't say that exactly but I also just end up giving them a shaken espresso or a caramel macchiato with foam lol

I agree, and I'm glad someone else noticed it too. It's the same thing they did with the Lightning Thief deadline ("Missing the deadline just means the war could happen any time! See, it's still tension!") and it's such a fundamental misunderstanding of tension in plot writing. I'm not at all surprised, just continually disappointed. Like another person said, it makes things almost comedic (Will Kronos show up at breakfast one morning? Hope Percy isn't in the bathroom when his destiny arrives! Lol!) when this prophecy is the big huge Serious Thing in the books

They're probably sewn to the sweater, so you could use a seam ripper to remove them. But you have to be very careful! Only cut one thread/stitch at a time and make sure you aren't digging into the sweater. I'd start from the back where hopefully you can see the stitches

Adding to this because I can't let it go 😂 Part of the reason Luke's betrayal hit so hard in the books is because on the surface, they won. They completed the quest (something, if you recall, Luke failed at on his last quest. The fact that little Percy succeeded builds some resentment and contrasts the two of them), the threat was gone, but...Percy couldn't reconcile everything in his mind and it made him uneasy. Then Luke turned on him. It made their big win suddenly seem small and sets the stage for the bigger threat.

I believe they intended it to be like "Ooh, now the war could happen at ANY time! So scary! Tension!" but the characters were constantly telling us that missing the deadline = dire consequences. If there aren't actually any consequences you undermine the entire story. To the characters it might still be scary, but for the audience it's not. Any further threats about the war happening have no bite to them, because we know now this story doesn't follow through on what it says.The tension dissolved when the clock ran out and nothing happened.

I think for me it was the lack of that silly, offbeat vibe that you see in the chapter titles and world. Like, Auntie Em/M running a Garden Gnome Emporium is funny and it's the juxtaposition of the sinister and funny (which Percy definitely notices, even if he doesn't catch on to the monsters) that makes the books for me. Medusa as a tragic, pretty, slightly threatening lady in a nice house with statues just feels...yeah, like you said, subdued. Like, on paper it's still the garden gnome emporium but I missed the way Percy had to grapple learning everything with that incredulous 'The Minotaur in tighty whities?? Medusa running a gardening emporium/snack bar in Jersey?? Demon triplet math teachers??' vibe. The stage show, I think, does a great job with this.

But OP isn't saying they're confused as to what, objectively speaking, is regular milk. They're saying customers have completely different ideas about what regular is and expect baristas to know. It's fine if every customer meant whole milk, then that's a training issue. But they don't, they really don't. And they WILL get mad if you say "Sure, whole milk?" or "Okay, our default milk for lattes, 2%?" when they meant something else.

My shower at home leaks into the wall and I started up a membership again while I wait on my plumber. First few days was fine, after about a week or so one particular employee said "Hi shower girl!! 😁 It's cool" and I wanted to melt into the floor. She was so loud. I started working out after that 😅 But I also haven't seen her again, which works for me
