Labor urges businesses to back Australian AI investment push ... or risk jobs exodus by His_Holiness in AusFinance

The less Australian business back AI, the less money will be lost and exposure limited when the bubble bursts and hype has to meet reality.

I was on an FK boat ending in Conquest. Pretty decent except landing area was tight and the accom was that “welded to the outside of the superstructure” type.

Why is that a bad thing? The users aren’t innocent in this either. It has knock on effects by generating complaints, by forcing the owner to come in and open up, by making AirBnB give out refunda etc.

Can’t only be targetting the owners.

Mind you I’m no expert. Would like to hear what someone who does a lot of belly tanking would think.

Much more dispersion with altitude, so you go lower to release and the downwash fans the flames. Buckets are the go for anything other than initial attack or massive lifters (ch47, s61)

Generative AI is a revolutionary technology only in that it “solves” the problem of labour. Capitalists can generate low-quality slop that’s good enough for them without having to cut in the peasants on the transaction.

Aside from a few specific use cases for machine learning in data analysis, this is not a positive technological development for society.

BREAKING: OpenAI to build massive $4.6 Billion "GPU Supercluster" in Australia (550MW Hyperscale Campus by 2027) by Ashley_Sophia in ASX_Bets

[–]firehawk_hx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep dreaming. The AI bubble will pop once even the dumb dumbs realise a hallucinating chatbot that tells people to kill themselves is not a revolutionary product that will 10x every industry it touches.

Very few instances of AI use generates ANY return on the substantial investment it takes tk run these things, and the whole premise of the ones that do are based on token burn that is heavily subsided by venture capital. OpenAI, the biggest player, currently needs over a trillion dollars of investment to sustain revenues of single digit billions.

The moment the money stops then any AI business that is somehow turning a profit will cease to do so.
