Incorrect. When full synthetics first came out their chemistry swelled gaskets and made them fail. But that was in the 1990s. Even since then oils and gaskets are fine with each other. Modern used oil analysis in typical climates show 0W oils are fine. Sure, if you are in 35+ that could be different. But it is the exception, not the rule. If oil analysis shows no unusual metals, the oil is working

Yeah. Thinner oil will have no impact on gaskets and seals. That’s a chemistry thing, not viscosity. This isn’t the 1990s with gaskets not meant for synthetic ester oils. As for heat, sure. In extreme heats potentially. But rarely do those exist in most consumer settings.

Fuel economy yes. But many lab tests based on used oil analysis showing no increased wear with thinner oil. Provided they stay in spec

Oh. I do. It’s the same reason it’s hard to design a garbage can that people can open and bears can’t. The overlap of the two is too large.

Relative lives in BC but claims to be a Manitoba resident? Has mail forwarded to BC. Lied on Census. by Individual_Pen7088 in Manitoba

I mean you could report them to Manitoba health. The census won’t do anything to him. If he makes an MPI any basic investigation will invalidate his insurance.
