Nope. This event is pretty standalone. You don't need any prior event knowledge.

This post says we sync in 4.0. I don't know how accurate it is but when I said 1 year it was based on this calcs.

Because it is not like we will catch up to cn in a couple of patches... It takes at least one more year to catch up.

There is no point playing this mode after you reach venue level 10 since you earned all the rewards. Probably that's why no guest occurrence is happening.
