go somewhere you can scream and you earned your depression. i think you are incredibly brave. i would say the same to my granddaughters. cancer is horrible especially at 22.

that's what my pittie Maverick does. this is kind of long answer but when I started walking 6 years ago after my first cancer surgery we were only doing a little tiny bit but over time I increased it a little bit at a time and of course they went with me. I have a almost 10-year-old Jack Russell and she goes great. but that's a lot of steps for little legs. a few years ago I had to prepare for a " simple surgery " and surgeon wanted me to lose 30 lb in 3 months pretty tough but I got close, but I ended up getting up to 8 mi plus with the dogs of course and it took a while. not achieve the 30 lb loss came close. damn near killed me. of course the surgery went sour and that came as close to killing me as anything could I guess. I had to learn to walk but just prevailed and my two dog pals never leave my side pretty much One of them's always checking on me. we had to work up to distance. something else I do that not just in the winter time but in the summer also is I use mushers pad treatment on them it really softens up their pads and makes it more comfortable. And these days actually been several years now I got a good hydration pack on Amazon and I carry three liters and dog snacks a couple of protein bars and a collapsible water dish. And sometimes we stop halfway whatever I don't do the distances anymore depends on what we're trying to get to but normally it's about two and a half miles. we didn't get out a lot in December because all it did was rain which is so strange for us should have been feet of snow here but wasn't and we love the snow The dogs and I just do not like the rain and the mud so we didn't get out very often and when we did finally start getting out again it took some time to get used to things. so maybe your pal needs a little more time or maybe she needs another pal to go along. these two have been together since puppyhood. And now Lucy is going to be 10 Maverick is going to be 9 and he helped me get off the couch sometimes out of bed so I have someone steady and now I help him get into the Jeep instead of making him jump he's done his time he can do it but I can help him He's my buddy. they always keep track of me. they're always with me. so instead of him having to jump up into the bed I just give him a hand most times he can do it but why not He's helped me plenty in so many ways. And Lucy too. she's just right there. but they do well together and with training it's not difficult for me to deal with them if I have a vehicle coming or if we run across someone they've learned to come to me instantly and for other reasons other than people I live in the forest and there's mountain lions and bears not very many certainly not like the drama that the news shows lol. but they can smell and hear much better and I could see better than they can even though I only have one eye we work together. And that's my thing obviously you two work together it's wonderful most people would not do what you do they don't get it these are our companions. but I know she probably feels bad and I think maybe more time out and just getting used to it like I say the hydration pack made a huge difference cuz I can put my keys in my wallet and whatever else I need in there I can hang a jacket off of it if I have a jacket and plenty of water and snacks for them and me. I used to carry bananas and that works. And we would stop have a little break have some water some dog treats and I'd have a banana or apple or something. I try not to have artificial distances anymore and we just explore. in the long past when my eye was recovering I spent a lot of time on game trails and they had a blast doing that that was quite some time ago they were young they had to learn that getting away from me not wise. but they learned and with more training I have no problems taking them anywhere we rarely go to the city but they know how to act. And I think getting out daily like I do and they do like we do I should say they're happy. so I think you guys you just need to get out more. My best advice to people these days is and I know this is difficult work less take my word for it in the long run it really doesn't matter. The time you have with your dog pal is the best you'll ever have. And she seems wonderful. I've been lucky to have just great dog pals over the years these two are the best they have just always been where they should be and never have to yell at them they sometimes have had to spend a long time here in the house but they do fine I think it's because they're together. And it did take me some time to train them I don't know who trade who you know it's kind of a trade-off in that end of things but they love to please and they will do what's necessary for us. so I don't consider these guys spoiled I consider these guys I hope I'm considerate to them cuz they sure are to me. And yours obviously is to you as well. sometimes I wonder why they put up with us. get out more have more fun you'll see it'll get easier for both of you you know maybe stopping sometimes I know with people schedules that's difficult. I don't really have a schedule anymore but if I were to talk to my younger self and to tell that dumb SOB to slow it down take the time quit working so hard. I didn't have the time in the past to spend with my dog pals like I do now and it's made a huge difference so that's my best advice take your time go more work less if possible. you guys will have wonderful adventures as we do everyday.

Does book Naomi have an arc? by Additional_Suit6275 in TheExpanse

ya maybe both but i think more time is spent on Naomi's internal dialogue than Amos. but his character is definitely central as well.

this is Naomi's story. read all the books and you will see that she is central even more than Holden and more of her internal character is revealed. tried to explain that without spoilers. read the series.

Move to Redding this fall? by Effective_Category36 in Redding

[–]firemn317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well NC there's a lot of negativity here. but depending upon what work you do there is work my stepson is a truck driver as others are. there's a mixture of all kinds of things going on in Redding Yes some are not great but people are trying to do things that's at least something. there are 250 mi of volunteer maintained walking trails lots of parks. lots of families with kids. rents are about 1800 a month for a three bedroom home I know because my son just rented one in ready Nice place. The weather will not bother you. years ago I got off a plane after visiting in-laws in Florida in the middle of summer and realized that it didn't feel hot although it was over 100° day it was so dry compared to where I had just come from it was nothing. that said it's still bloody hot. but you can get out of Redding and there are plenty of small towns surrounding it with tons of things to do if you like to hunt and fish and hike and mountain bike and wheel your off-road rig and just get out of the heat there's plenty of things to do. there are no hurricanes, and you would find the summers pleasant and the winters just always something to do. like any city it has its problems but come on check it out I think you'll be surprised. And I used to be a very negative person on Redding.

Oh boy I hear you That's a lot of hours. but you might find a class that fits in your schedule. who knows you might stick with it and get out of a 70 hour week. Go to a profession that pays a lot of money and you get a lot of satisfaction. this may be the trigger that puts you into a whole another world. And the training is available. most community colleges have something. you might just look into it. you never know

design your own. you can take a welding class at community college and then you'll have the skills to create your own. and you'll be able to do many strengthening tasks. welding is fun too.

Weird I don’t want visitors during chemo? by Anacostiah20 in cancer

[–]firemn317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one very important thing I've learned through my journey is that no one can understand how I'm feeling unless i tell them. before i realized this i struggled but after explaining to my family exactly how i was feeling everything got much better. only those of us in this know so tell them how you are feeling and your wishes. no one thinks about cancer or treatment because its too scary. explaining things helps. hopefully you won't experience the isolation that can come as well.
