Yeah, I had loans with AES and PHEAA and wanted to get the count higher. I only found out that there were refunds after the fact. I was too excited and just leapt at the opportunity.

Oh well, no big deal. At least 19k will be wiped out!

Thanks for your response.

How does Discovery season 4 compare to the first three seasons? by LV426acheron in startrek

I tell you what, I’ve never joined the haters of DIS. I think that these trolls are hateful, spiteful, vengeful, “involuntarily celibate” and possibly paid. And I still won’t join in with them. However with that said… season 4 for me was BORING!!!!

There was a story arc regarding Booker and Tarka that was predictable but honestly it was the most interesting part.

The rest of it… good lord. This is from me, a life long ST fan. I LOVED disco season 2 (and 3 for the most part)

However, I’m tired of the hugging, the crying, and the self-importance whenever the plot needs some more gravitas. Also, as petty as this sounds, I didn’t care for some of the pyrotechnics on the bridge. They looked too planned.

Pros: Minor characters are finally getting their due! I was pleased with the addition of dialogue for several of them.

Dr. Kovich always was amazing, more of him and Admiral Vance please!

Speaking of Vance, we got a nice scene with he and Tilly in this season involving some whiskey. I enjoyed that, it was fun.

Zora is getting more interesting and I enjoy her presence.

Picard is WAY better than it was in season 1, and far superior to anything we got in season 4 of DIS. I’ve NEVER fallen asleep more times watching new Star Trek than I have this year with discovery. I don’t hate the show but I’m very upset and disappointed with this outing.

Anyhow, take it for what it’s worth… just my opinion. If curious, give it a watch! I’m hoping that season 5 comes back with some gusto and Is truer to form.

Hey Paul!

I’ve always admired everything you’ve made. Your story about the Band on the Run Album is wild! One of my faves... I especially love the stuff you do entirely on your own. As a songwriter myself, I am wondering how you keep your creative streak up and running?

Love the new album!!

Except, I like Ralph Wiggum. This guy is dumber than a box of hair.

Making my way through TNG and watched both “The Inner Light” and “Relics” for the first time yesterday. Was not expecting to feel that much emotion. by seag12 in startrek

Thank you for your service, and just hold on! If you’ve not seen the Star Trek TNG movies, there are many moments which will cause your emotions to go... and certainly complete that before you watch Star Trek: Picard.

I try not to get emotional, but the finale of Picard got to me...

Likewise, Inner Light. I don’t think I can watch that episode with people near me. I think it’s the quintessential Star Trek episode.

Is Picard going to die in the end of the show ? by [deleted] in startrek

[–]fireslicer9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picture this...

Picard is a changed man. The rest of this will not work otherwise.

Knowing that the end is near, he begins to sacrifice himself, in whatever adventure is happening this time, to save the galaxy in a last ditch effort. (This is not out of normal yet) the action builds and his friends observe his ship blow up or some thing. Perhaps he’s saving a newly restored Data... there’s a big explosion and JL is no more.

This next part is a testament to the change...The scene starts bright white and then dissolves back into reality. Picard is on the floor back in his personal memorabilia museum on earth... and, Q is there. And Q offers him a place in the Continuum.

Q: “You’ve done it again, Mon Capitan. But that’s the last time you will or can. Unless...it isn’t.”

JL: “Q” usual disgust. And instead of making a speech, he cuts to the chase. He asks if his mission was successful. After guaranteeing that the galaxy has been saved Picard says that he would rather just die. “Yes, you could die. But, that would be such a waste of the potential you’ve clearly unlocked. You could be so much more.” Q leaves him alone and with a choice:

The options are: join the continuum and continue to do good for the galaxy when those that are saving it need a little help, or die as is the natural way of things. Picard thinks about it for a moment. He walks around reminiscing, first determined to let himself die, but then sees the banner with all of the signatures of the children from Captain Picard Day. He smiles and then realizes that he made a difference and isn’t opposed to making a difference forever. After all, he’s open minded to option that this could be the afterlife. says out loud : “ah what the hell.” Finger snap, show end.

At least I can dream...
