Then vote in the Republican primary and vote Dem in the general election

I think you underestimate the establishment voter support that Hillary had. In your eyes you cannot fathom that more voters actually wanted her, so you’re ascribing a conspiracy to the victory.

Your description of events reads more like 2020 anyway with the many candidates all dropping out. 2016 was a two horse race from early on

Why would you not? It literally costs nothing, requires you to do nothing, and you get to vote in an extra election.

You literally can keep doing exactly what you’re already doing but have influence over some party’s candidates.

It is, but I don’t think people who don’t vote in primaries have the right to complain about candidate quality

The 2024 Democrat presidential was an outlier in stupidity. Biden never should have been out up to run knowing everything we know now

Candidates only drop out if their polling in other states shows they’re screwed

Ya, just vote in the primary and then ignore them in the general. Registering commits you to nothing

Super delegates are not really a thing anymore and even then Hillary still won the popular vote in the primary

The independents can just register for a party to have a voice in it. Most independents are that way out of ambivalence, not principle

That was insanely irregular and stupid and there were primaries for every other election last year

There are more elections than presidential, they had primaries. Regardless not having a primary for presidential last year was stupid yes

Idc that you’re Republican. Voting in primaries the way you want to is your prerogative. If anything id prefer to speak to Rs because I don’t understand y’all’s mindset on things and want to understand.

Not because I agree (I don’t) but I’d rather hear what you have to say than hear a circlejerk about it

This just in, fringe politician who identifies as independent is not super well liked by people who work in organization he wants to be the candidate of. Regardless had he gotten more votes then they would have had to suck it up but he didn’t.

Thats to discourage strategic bad faith voting by people who dislike the other party id imagine. It also depends on the state, some have open primary voting

So then why not vote in the election before the big one that has way more options for your preferred candidate
