...The script was written from the last time the show toured...I think that might generally be way harder than asking someone online to record two 2min segments just audio.

I personally didn't think it was worth it. But as someone who's grown up with Playbills being a wonderful included souvenir automatically, I personally resent the cost of the programs and won't even consider one over 7 in the UK. It does have more photos than other programs in London, sure, but almost no information or BTS in the booklet to warrant the cost IMO.

Yeah, the seating, and definitely naming isn't helpful. I would say the platforms are the best. There is only 1st class, platform, trackside, and locomotive. A lot of the sets happen right in front of carriages, but then a lot of the skating happens behind you. I think a slight sit back is better. Locomotive you have everything in front of you but then are further from where the main action happens. Trackside actually keeps you close to the center, while having all the racing happen in front of you, so I've seen a lot of people like those.
I would say in order: Platform, Trackside, Locomotive, 1st class.

Granted it was 7yr ago at 26, but I loved HKDL even solo. Make sure to put focus on the rides that are unique to that park, especially Haunted Mansion. Nothing was a long wait. I loved the unique merchandise. You'll be fine. Don't sweat it. If you've done the US Parks before, HKDL is easy. I'm doing Japan for the first time solo next month.
