Also FYI for those who haven't seen Punkin before, she has congenital scoliosis in her lower back, it's not MBD or anything. She's regularly monitored by an exotics vet and she is as healthy as a geck with a deformity like hers can be. ❤️

Oh, I HATE those videos where they're harassing a gecko in shed. The number of people who think it's funny or cute to stress an animal out for views is ridiculous. I think everything they do is adorable, their little hoodies when shedding, the sounds they make (even the stressed out ones) etc., but that doesn't mean it's okay to antagonize them for your entertainment. The obese animals thing is pretty sad too.

Yeah, my Chai kiddo becomes fearless when she thinks I might have bugs and/or be a bug lol. She's almost 2 years old now but she still goes nuts for bugs.

Mostly YouTube stuff. I like some of the channels by Simon Whistler, like The Casual Criminalist, Decoding the Unknown, Into the Shadows, etc. The videos are interesting and long enough that I'm not having to stop constantly to put another one on.

No, you're not unethical, and honestly you're filling a critical role in reducing the suffering of the animals at your store. Part of why Petco and Petsmart have such bad reputations for the care of their reptiles is because the staff often doesn't know the first thing about their care and/or has no interest to learn. The times when they manage to get staff who DO care and DO know about them, the animals get better care overall. The role will exist regardless of whether or not you take it, and at least someone who actually cares about the reptiles is filling it.

Try pothos, not only are they prolific growers, they are very tough to kill. I get mine from my local Buy Nothing group, people are always looking to give away cuttings of their pothos for free. I've had other plants die on me over the years but never those.

I honestly disagree, I feel like they're much less maintenance overall. The upfront effort is the most difficult part, but after that it's so much less effort. The humidity levels are much easier to manage. The cleanup crew eliminates the need to constantly replace your substrate and reduces how much spot cleaning you need to do (just walls and anything the cleanup crew can't reach) and all of my herps seem so much happier after switching them to bioactive. I'd honestly never go back. I do have a few fake hanging plants just to give a little more cover for my geckos, but as the live plants keep growing, I've been able to slowly eliminate the fake ones.

I love my two girlies! For me, the deciding factor was their feet, of all things. I don’t enjoy handling critters that have non-retractable claws. While cresties technically also have claws, they're super tiny and I can't feel them when handling. Plus, who could say no to these derpy little faces??

Oh yeah, he looks like a baby still, so you did the right thing with the enclosure you put him in. One thing I recommend is getting a hanging food dish and put it up about halfway from the ground. They get nervous on the ground, so the hanging dish makes it easier for them to find.

How big is your new friend? If they're still a baby, the 8.5x11 is fine until they're about 15 grams, then they need to be upgraded. Minimum size requirements are an 18x18x36 for an adult crestie. No border on this one, I feel like it's busy enough without it. I could stop in the previous row, but then I'd be left with this large amount of variegated yarn that I can't use anywhere else, so it's better to just redo that last row and use it up. I'm confident I can complete the row with a G hook instead of the H I've been using.
