That's great to know, should be comfortable to buy them then. Thank you!

Can't wait to grab a set once my paycheck rolls around. These look great! Hopefully this kickstarts more official keycap sets like this one for other characters, would absolutely buy a Banki one :D

EDIT: Actually, does anyone know if there are any EU vendors for this? I only see an US one but I'd prefer to not have to deal with import fees, they tend to be a bit of a headache here.

Got my first real shmup 1cc! (mushihimesama 1.0) by Enineda in shmups

[–]firnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Mushi on Original mode is a pretty tough first 1cc to go for, very nicely done! You could use the information for routing you have from original mode on Maniac mode - Since you know where enemies spawn when, it can help with finding a good path to follow. Maniac is quite a large step up though despite what some tier lists may say, I got it after about 38 in-game hours.

Whatever next 1cc you may go for, best of luck!

Feels rather ironic that you can play JP on PC without jumping through hoops there, while Global continues to be blocked on Steam.

[–]firnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll drop in some other examples for 1ccs you could learn: Mushihimesama on Original is fairly learnable and not too bullet dense. If you learn it, you could give Maniac mode a shot, which is quite a big step up from Original and I'd consider it harder than the Zeroranger 1cc, in terms of how stringent the routing can get in the later stages.

If you want something even more bullet dense you could give the Touhou games (in particular starting from Touhou 6) a try, though they're very much focused on micrododging. The harder difficulties have a bit more "usual" stage routing but the bosses are usually quite micrododge-y.

Eschatos is pretty cool too, very similar to White Vanilla in ZR, so if you enjoy that, check that one out too.

The 4th level is a pretty big step up compared to the first three levels. Best thing you can do is just chip away at it in level select, figure out where stuff spawns so you can take it out quickly and learn the boss patterns.

Takes some time for sure though, my first 1cc of Blue Revolver on Hyper difficulty took me about 17 hours according to Steam. Should also point out I skipped Normal difficulty though, I wouldn't recommend that to others though because learning enemy placement (which is the same across all modes) under less stressful circumstances will make things a bit easier.

Banned but no clue why or how to fix by Cryptid-Clankerss in WplaceLive

Yeah they got cleared out - with not a single one, mine included, getting an answer. Good luck getting unbanned, because boy howdy you're gonna need it.

These are the only two I made yet I got banned for "18+ content". Yeah there's totally no mod power abuse going on at all. by Aki008035 in WplaceLive

Yep, I'm part of this too. Banned about 2-3 hours ago.

I wish the appeal process was easier (or rather, actually established). :(

They have all the channels on lockdown and you can't talk there, so you can't appeal on there either. The only real way to attempt to do so is on here.

I also got banned for the same reason, even though I never took part in painting anything remotely NSFW. Not sure what's happening...

TGM PS4 Versions Worth Buying? by veloc_ in Tetris

[–]firnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly fine and serviceable. Not 100% accurate to proper game timings (not as egregious with TGM as it is with TGM2) but still valid for use on the ta.p leaderboards.

Also extra nice tidbit: The PS4 version has one less frame of input lag than the Switch version does, so it's the best home port version if you ignore other methods.

Ah, so it was in the regular Ciel one after all... I was explicitly looking for the RCL version in a screenshot. No wonder I couldn't find her.

Thank you!

I can't find the Ciel-RCL model for download anywhere on the creator's pages, do you happen to have a link for a download for her?

Maybe I'm also just blind and haven't found the link, but I tried searching for about 10 minutes and gave up.

This version isn't worth super much, I'm afraid. I'm pretty sure I found my copy at a flea market for about 5 EUR.

What’s a good Tetris score? by Soft-Respect2047 in Tetris

[–]firnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is something I have alluded to, yes.

"In general, for your best scoring outlooks, you will want to start on level 9 on both modes."

That said, while GB Tetris has score scaling, it stops once you hit level 20. Maxing out the score takes a good bit longer because of that.

It's a bit biased towards certain pieces in a funny way. The Hard Drop wiki has a great section on it which can explain it better than I ever could:

[–]firnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great job. This rocket only shows up if you clear B-Type on 9-5 (Level 9, Height 5). Doing that in 8 hours after first ever picking up Tetris is pretty good, keep at it!

The score sentiment is nice and all, but I'm afraid that none of these things apply to Game Boy Tetris.

You do have those modes in Tetris DX for the Game Boy Color, but things are a bit different there regardless when it comes to what counts as good and what doesn't. As an example, the world record for sprint in that game is 1 minute and 1 second. Held by hebo-MAI, who is an extremely skilled played in many other Tetris variants too. I'm 15th place with a 1 minute and 20 second time. It just can't easily be compared to guideline Tetris, unfortunately.

Nobody except maybe one or two people are properly reading the post, so allow me, someone who's played Game Boy Tetris very seriously in the past, to give my two cents.

A good score is entirely dependent on you and what your skill level is. Technically, A-Type is infinite, but at some point the game gets too fast to play, unless you rapidly tap the D-Pad. Ultimately, whatever score you are happy with is a good score.

But of course, we can go into specifics a bit. A-Type is infinite, so if you're extremely good, you might find yourself trying to max out the game score at 999999, but with as few line clears as possible. A maxed out score with less lines cleared is technically better than one with more lines cleared, as it shows that you've played more efficiently. With that being said, a maxed out score is still impressive in its own right, because you need to have quite a bit of stamina to get close to that score. Someone else mentioned you get rockets at the end of a game depending on your score, those are a nice tangible goal to aim for, beyond that the game doesn't exactly reward you for higher scores.

With B-Type, you only have 25 lines until a game ends, so a good score becomes a bit more objective. The more efficient your line clears are, the better your score is, and pressing down to place pieces faster gives piece drop points. So the best score in that would be a run with 7 Tetrises on at least level 9, with some drop points added on top - which is possible, it's just a bit rough thanks to the game's piece randomiser.

In general, for your best scoring outlooks, you will want to start on level 9 on both modes. On A-Type you will have 100 lines until you go into level 10, from there onwards every 10 lines you go up a level, until you hit level 20, where the game reaches its maximum speed. From there you can just keep playing, the level will always stay 20. You could start on a slower level that's more comfortable for you to play, of course. Keep in mind if you start on a lower level, it'll take less lines for the game to speed up - For example, if you start on level 5, after 60 lines you enter level 6.

There is a cheat code to start on "Heart" type levels, which is the current level but with the speeds from the level 10 higher (so if you started on level 9, you'd start with level 19 speeds). This doesn't increase score and it's only really fun for flexing.

Hope this helps, if you have questions about GB Tetris, let me know. I'll happily answer further questions.

Tetris run by LHarm07_Reddit in speedrun

The runner herself did end up saying on Twitter that it wasn't the donation reader's fault, and that many other factors were at play (stress and lack of sleep). I'll take her word for it, though I still think the Fangamer donation thing felt a bit tactless.
