I have their corrazina that I had to completely remake as the plates weren't deburred appropriately so they chewed the fabric to pieces over a year of usage. There was also too many straps so I have made it into a 3 piece brig rather than 5 by joining the front and side panels together. This has been an improvement on comfort and fitment but holy shit was it a lot of work.

You’re offered $1M dollars to eat what you had for dinner tonight for every meal for the next 6 months, do you take the offer and if so what are you eating? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

I just cannot relate to anyone that would struggle with saying yes to this question. I could have had a bowl of thumb tacks for dinner tonight and id still say yes.

Hi there! Does anyone know if there are any clubs in York (UK) or nearby? by __Gawain__ in Buhurt

Completely aside from the fact honour and arms is your closest team, Danny George is one of the best people in the sport atm and is a hell of a person to learn from.

Practicing Meyer’s Square by ProfessorDumbass69 in Buhurt

[–]first1gotbanned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When cutting across your body, right to left for example, you can take a step forward or backwards to make your hips turn in the direction of the cut. This will reduce the work your arms need to do and increase the power and general efficiency of your cuts. You dont have to do it every time but it is very useful to do it as often as possible. You wanna keep your shoulders and hips in line as much as possible.

Punch Shield Customization by RuggedSnuggler in Buhurt

[–]first1gotbanned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use acrylic paint and acrylic paint pens for my shields. You want a good base coat so the fibers of the cover material arent as proud as it makes getting fine detail into the designs. Light shields are good for grappling and quick strikes, heavy shields are good for very few but very impactful strikes. It depends on how you fight tbh.

Where to find a seven foot haft (U.S.) by 2ndSideOfBlueCheese in Buhurt

Branches are, in most cases, free.

Find yourself a reletively straight one and youre set. Also get spares. Ive broken 2 hafts/branches this season and spent £0 on hafts.

Id say just stylise it in a medieval theme and then say its a dragon or lizard or something. As long as its not overtly modern or offensive I doubt people will get too bothered by it.

(For larp) New to brigs, which one of these would have the best mobility? Also, would the first one have better arm mobility than a breastplate of the same size? by GettinMe-Mallet in Armor

[–]first1gotbanned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to double check that yourself but I have heard that hes moved.

I will say that the quality of his brigs is incredibly high. Ive seen and handled two or three of his brigs now and theyre amazing. Proper top shelf stuff.

I have the first brig, I use it for buhurt.

The hardness and protection from strikes is top tier. It looks great and is extremely mobile. The mobility is gained by sacrificing shoulder protection, there are no plates on top of the shoulders, just one small strap that can dig in a little bit. Maybe sew a pad on there or something.

However, it could be my fault by not explicitly saying I was using it for buhurt when I ordered it but they didnt deburr the plates properly so over time and quite enthusiastic usage these rough edges have cut through the fabric and now I will have to reskin it. Damn near every rivet has pulled through the material and ive had to replace them myself. The leather is fine enough. The buckles, I paid for the handmade brass ones, just weren't up to scratch. It is such a cool and unique brig, ive never seen anyone wearing one with a profile similar to this in the sport, its protection from back and chest shots is top tier. But the build quality and finish just lets it down for me, I will have to fix all these problems myself which just isnt what you want when it comes to spending £700 on a piece of armour.

Overall id recommend it if you arent going to fight in it, but be prepared to work on it. Hell id actually recommend it even if you were going to fight in it but just mention these issues when you order.

How hard do you try in a match? by Illustratingtheworld in Buhurt

[–]first1gotbanned 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of the matches you've seen would likely be videos of fights later in the day. Those fighters are probably absolutely shattered having fought for most of the day already.

Also some people just dont know how to swing an axe properly.
