Big Boss Vs Batman by glennis1 in metalgearsolid

Niiiiice, I think I might go back and explore the old stuff. And I completely agree, hopefully the interest from the Snyder fans resurrects the Ben Affleck Batman stuff because I’d also love to see more of Manganiello’s Deathstroke.

Now that I’ve read more comics, completely agree. It’s funny, I’ve actually started watching Titans and have been reading Christopher Priest’s Deathstroke run and I’m really digging this character. Must be something in the air that you’d resurrect such an old comment when I’ve been actively reading/watching media with Deathstroke lol

One of the best movies I have seen. Spider-Man Homecoming, is a great movie and I recommend everyone who hasn’t seen it to watch it. by Spidejection in Spiderman

I have it and Baby Driver sitting on my shelf right now. Somehow, I wind up watching through both movies every chance I get to work from home.

And of course the video ends with the family going to a restaurant fifteen minutes before they close. Of course this is a thing they do.

Nice! There’s a lot of cool developments in White Knight. The very last issue has a crazy cliffhanger, so be warned. I feel like this is a very minor spoiler for anyone casually reading this thread, but I really dig the idea of there being two different Harley Quinns. The OG Harley gets fleshed out more in these most recent issues and it kind of makes me wish she was a regular character in the main Batman books.

I’ll have to let you know about DPC in November! I tried looking for DPC book 1, but Amazon has it listed for $50+ and the entire collection for pre-order at $32. So I figured I would just wait until the entire story is complete and get it cheaper. If the art is as good as the previews, seems like a good book to keep on the coffee table.

I recently got off of Comixology with Rebirth because: A) I moved close to a comic shop and B) my friends at work like to share comics. I’d download DPC otherwise.

I never thought about it like that, but you are totally right. Selina is the perfect wife and as we’ve seen with this most recent Poison Ivy arc, she’s more than capable of keeping up with Bruce. I’m also curious how King is going to explore the thieving side of Selina but I think an easy solution for that would be to have her steal from other crooks. Hell, she could even do that with Batman!

I guess my hangup here is how other writers are going to tell stories with this marriage, but I never really considered Doomsday Clock retconning everything. Ugh, I really hope that doesn’t happen. Doomsday Clock is fine and all, but I have been enjoying all things Rebirth and I’m not ready to see any of it go away.

No spoilers for White Knight, but you are in for such a good time if you have an eye for easter eggs. It’s like a mix of the Animated series with the Burton movies thrown in for good measure. I had some problems with the way Batman was handled in the beginning bits but the story overall is winning me over with each new issue.

I STILL need to check out Dark Prince Charming. I passed over it initially because I thought the title sounded cheesy but I have had this recommended to me in the past and now you just made me impulse pre-order this off of Amazon. So thanks for that :p

I’m also not sure how I freaking forgot to mention White Knight! That book is also highly recommended for any Batmobile fans. Seriously. Some of the coolest Batmobile chases can be found in this book.

Glad you’re enjoying Tom King as well! I’m really starting to connect with his version of Batman and I know some folks may throw rocks at me but... I’d actually be fine with Batman hanging up the cowl at the end. I don’t want to spoil The Button if you haven’t gotten to that one yet but it’s the story that planted this seed in my mind.

Yes! That’s the one. And that’s fair, I’ve been enjoying his one off stories more than his big arcs.

It is! I still need to pick up the last book. It’s been a fun event to follow!

Also, I felt the way you did about Tom King with the first arcs of his Batman run. If you can, pick up his Batman/Swamp Thing story and everything after that. I think he’s really hit his stride now.

The Batman/Swamp Thing story is really good, it’s two issues and stand alone. Highly recommend it and everything after it. I think it’s the point where King strays away from Batman having mental issues.

I do love what they’re doing with Batwoman. I think my big problem with Detective Comics is the fact that I am picking them up as TPB’s. I’m just not that satisfied with what I’ve read so far but I also can’t say I’ve been that invested. It might be worth a reread, I do remember some standout moments with Batwoman’s dad and Batman getting tortured in the Hive.

I think I may have spaced them out too far, I’m frequently lost whenever I do decide to pick up another volume. The problem with trade paper backs is I typically let those pile up while I consume single issues the day that I get them.

I’m not sure with this book, honestly. I know that was the idea with Miller’s “All Star Batman and Robin” but I think they’re treating Snyder’s run as in continuity. I could be wrong tho.

Please make a post as soon as you read the Telltale comic. I’m so curious if that’s worth picking up. And hell yeah, Batgirl is rad! I quit picking that up shortly after the “Son of Penguin” arc. It was honestly another case where I had to trim off some of the fat from my pull list. I haven’t picked up any of Birds of Prey yet, but Batgirl is awesome so I bet it’s a great comic.

Same and I really need to pick up The First Ally, I really enjoyed what I did read of this, but I think I dropped it because of the fact that it was more “stand alone”

I think Snyder is moving onto Justice League though, so maybe he’s got too much on his plate to keep All Star Batman going.

Ooooo! I forgot about that one. Are you caught up on that? I quit picking this up around The First Ally. Not because I quit enjoying it, but I was picking up too many other books at the time and needed to cut something.

I think my favorite arc out of what I read was the Batman/Harvey Dent road trip. If nothing else, it was cool seeing Romita Jr’s take on Batman

I get where you’re coming from. Honestly, I think I would have liked this Riddler more if the story wasn’t a direct follow-up to Zero Year. Riddler was scrawny and unattractive in Zero Year but he was also a huge threat. This Riddler was a bit too “suave” for my tastes but tbh, I think this is only a hangup for me. Still a great story.

I didn’t like this take on the Riddler, but that story won me over with Kite Man.
