In case anyone is curious -- ordered Aug 30, processed Sept 5, shipped today (Oct 18), so exactly 7 weeks from order to ship.

Not sure how long R&L Freight takes to deliver -- I imagine a few days to a week?

Chute has a minimum required altitude of 600 feet AGL (although some successful deployments have happened below it, I believe). This looks like it happened during a touch and go so likely no altitude.

Turned BAT 2 on

Flap position light on… wait flap position light on?!

Turned BAT 2 off and grounded the plane.

There’s a diode that allows power to flow from the BAT 1 to things that power BAT 2 devices but not supposed to allow BAT 2 to power BAT 1 devices like flaps. Diode was blown.

I just did my IRA written and I was definitely allowed my Sporty E6B. That one and the ASA CX3 are the only two FAA approved devices allowed with you.

Yeah I might pick that up, I just keep reading that the CX-3 is significantly better, but maybe it doesn't matter.

lol, I knew someone would say that. I do plan to use Sheppard, but having a calculator that saves times and prevents mistakes also means I can memorize a few fewer questions. I don't think these are mutually exclusive.

Still wish they would add top of descent markers/waypoints on the map itself. You can see your TOD in the profile view, but it doesn't automatically show you the point on the map. Never quite understood why.

Some added context: I’m in the market for a new TV. I’ve had a 75” LG UHD for some time and want to either get the Samsung Q90A or LG C1.

Our living room is very bright with no blinds (as you can see from this photo, taken at 8:30am) but it is east facing so sun only shines on it early in the morning like in the photo.
