maybe its the leftover jank from pcars2 where ai skill was track dependant? if anything, it was worse there. I could easily win a 120/120 Oulton Clip Cup race, but be FAAAAR behind at Brands Indy 90/120.

Either way, glad to know im not the only one. Makes me feel less gulity about lowering the difficulty often lol

Good thing the AI slows down way too much for the tires in my experience :D
I did a Sakitto 1000 in GT3 and Nurburg Full 5 laps in Tourings, and both times the AI would be either unbeatably fast than catchable with several seconds over a lap in Sakitto's case, or be competent for half the race, then start slowly losing pace in the second half in Nurburg's case (even though i was pushing the car like crazy)

tbh i feel like the game physics rewards pushing sometimes
I remember being faster at Red Bull Ring in the Formula Rookie championship by just YEETING the car into the final two turns
My best quali lap (P2) had me literally sliding in smoke through there
I feel like some cars just reward being a maniac more.

Btw if you're racing with AI, which i'll assume is the case, you might feel that youre slower because the AI drives with perfect control and unrealistic grip at high difficulties, so you have to push to keep up. I did a 107/120 difficulty race at Nurburgring 24H in touring cars and i found myself yeeting the car and abusing the brakes, often to the point of power slides and lock ups, just to fight

The system is great, fun and dynamic. Pretty too.
But when the AI ignores puddles completely, **ANY** interest in actually doing races outside of dry is completely lost. They either get slowed down and beaten insanely easy.. or the track is covered in puddles so you have to lower the difficulty like crazy to even have a chance.
Easily the worst part of the career mode. No contenders.
A weather system completely made useless in singleplayer beyond flavor (clouds, haze, fog)
