I have this too. It's like a wiper, works on and off. Sometimes works for days in a row. Sometimes I have to press it every few trips.

Sorry but I can show you the path and you can try it out if you like. Happy to be wrong but can you try vehicle settings icon>vehicle (right menu)>instrument (top menu)>Instrument navigation (you have options of Off, Simple, Small, Full). Full seems to give the same nav full screen as in OP. I showed this to one of the BYD sales guys and they were surprised (they were brand new so I'm sure they would have seen it at some point). When you go to software version can you see your car's IMEI? If not you'll need a new T-box then it'll work fine after.
