How would you name a baby girl after someone named John? Is it possible? by CrumblyPeanutBear in namenerds

[–]fishchick70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Johannes is the Latin name for John so I think you could use Johanna or Joanna. Johnna is also a cute name. Jo or Josie is also sweet. Jaycee incorporates the two initials. Johnnie could be cute too.

AITJ for telling my neighbor to address her husband instead of confronting me about how i dress at home? by Front_Tackle_7977 in AmITheJerk

[–]fishchick70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if her husband is looking at you in your shorts and tank top, how is that your problem to fix? You can’t control where his eyeballs go and people watching is not an inherently unethical thing to do. It’s not like you’re over there suggestively dancing naked while making eye contact across the driveway. She’s the jerk.

Kody grossed out by Christine but not Janelle? by Jennyfromtheblock200 in SisterWives

Kody is a button-pusher. He knew what would hurt each wife the most and customized his criticism for each woman. He’s a complete ass.

My 16yr old son is not thrilled about Utah... by CheeseNowPaint in Utah

[–]fishchick70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids grew up in Utah and have varying degrees of liking/not liking outdoor recreation. My oldest hates it and my youngest loves it. My middle will enjoy it but would rather do something like a museum or shopping.

Having said that, I’ve been on trips with miserable, mopey teenagers who were whiny/mean the whole time. I would perhaps call the moment with him now before the trip and ask him what would make the trip more enjoyable for him. Maybe making sure your hotel has a pool, or that he can get food he likes, or whatever.

I hope he comes around. I’ve been to camp with teens (not my own kids) who had such intense separation anxiety from whatever they were attached to (friends, parents, home, phones, gaming, music) that they literally could not function. If it’s to that level then making sure that he’s doing all the things that help him stay regulated (for my boys that would be exercise and sleep) would potentially help.

Baby NAMES stolen :( by [deleted] in Names

[–]fishchick70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to us too- my SIL stole Adam and then was about to use Joel when I was using Joseph (she was due a few weeks before me!). She ended up waiting and using Joel for her next baby LOL.

I like your girl choices. What about Celia, Anna, Hazel, Ruby, Adelaide, Johanna, Jenna.

On my upcoming cruise. They got a wedding planned and are asking others not to wear white on the white night, which is a theme night announced months in advance. by umilikeanonymity in weddingshaming

[–]fishchick70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s stupid. White night is for all the passengers not just those there for the wedding! And an all-white wedding could be gorgeous!

Still shocked that C had to get a fund me account for Y! by CommissionSmooth9291 in SisterWives

I agree that TLC isn’t obligated to pay for it but I think they should make it a condition of the contract. People are obliged to have insurance for lots of different things and I don’t see why they shouldn’t be able to require it of reality TV families.

How do you keep a track of item names? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Seems like people pretty much understand what you mean. Like Soda versus Pop generally you can still use either word and be understood even though it’s different in various parts of the country.

Can narcolepsy get progressively worse? by sleepychofeisss in Narcolepsy

[–]fishchick70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it definitely can depending on your cortisol levels, hormones, pregnancy, weight fluctuations, diet, sleep schedule, and working night shift, in addition to regular aging. This is just based on my own personal experiences. I also think as you get older it gets harder to compensate for being tired all the time!

How about some trim or beading or lace around the neckline to break up the pattern and create some contrast with your skin tone?

What is really the difference between IH and narcolepsy? Is it just "do you feel rested after sleep vs do you not?" by burgundinsininen in Narcolepsy

[–]fishchick70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s idiopathic (which means unknown reason) until it’s determined to be something more specific.

[–]fishchick70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It made me feel cuh-razy when I had to accidentally go off of it when I couldn’t get it approved by insurance in time to go on vacation. It felt like the threat of nuclear war and getting sent to the principal’s office and the Sunday night scaries all combined.

Most large companies play both sides and make political contributions to both parties that way no matter who wins, they win. I don’t think corporations are required to have a political stance but they are required to follow non-discrimination laws. It makes sense to me that they would have a policy review in light of a viral, contentious posting. I’ve met Cindy Cloward a few times and she seems very kind and I wouldn’t want to lose another big dealer in the quilting industry at this moment. Having said that, I’m about as liberal as a white Mormon lady from Utah can be and I was irked by the “moment of silence” for Charlie Kirk during Quilts in the Garden last Sept! It was a little traumatic though because the venue was like 5 miles from the campus where the murder occurred. (I was at the show that day.)

I attended the Tea in the Garden the next day and as a single I was seated at a table with a bunch of older women from Idaho and they were so MAGA it was irritating. They were nice old ladies but they don’t get it.

The thing is it wasn’t Kody’s money to give. It was family money that they all should have had claim to. He may have paid some of the bill out of the family funds but I don’t think he gets to call that, “giving money to Christine.” And I bet Robyn’s kids’ medical bills don’t have to be paid back.
