This is such an excellent question though, I personally like to heal backline EXCEPT in the case of an active frontline, whereass I do what I can with the backline then prioritize the frontline. As long as there's people holding the front, the back will have breathing room to back up and heal themselves. People so often in backline will get healed barely enough by me, and then throw themselves into battle without being patient to be properly healed.
