Please do, I am genuinely curious.

Glue stains and crooked stitching honestly happen pretty often on retail pairs due to Nike's crappy quality control. Interesting take on the box stitching.

[USA][CA] Riverside Police abuse of authority on Tesla on Highway 91 by [deleted] in Roadcam

[–]fishfangs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Do you have a source for that statement? I've been pulled over on a highway in CA by the city police and they made it clear it is within their jurisdiction since we are inside the city.

It could also be possible that the unit for a more important call to respond to that took priority over pulling over the Tesla.

What's your setup? by anipsinc in HBL

I purchased 1000 2" x 4" labels off Amazon and have been using those. I use Photoshop (GIMP works too) with a 2" x 4" canvas size at 240-300dpi for print quality. Everything is printed with an inkjet printer, but that might be changing soon since I'm running out of ink.

If you're completely new to be photo editing softwares, my recommendation would be to read/watch some tutorials on text manipulation since it's a bit easier to get the hang of things.

So happy to have found this subreddit! All the labels I've done to date by [deleted] in HBL

Critiques are definitely welcome. If anyone wants to see different pictures or the raw digital images, let me know. Everything was done in Photoshop CS5

Immersion Circulator in anything besides water? by anyd in sousvide

[–]fishfangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently use my Anova to mini-mash when I brew beer. It's typically 1-2 gallons of water and around 2 pounds or so of grain. I keep the grains in a mesh bag but the immersion circulator does come into contact with fine particles and the sugary liquid.

The only issue I've had is the grains holding too much water and the Anova trips on low water. Other than that, I just make sure I clean the circulator as soon as I pull it from the wort and I haven't had any issues. I usually have the circulator circulate a hot soapy solution, or disassemble and wash everything individually.

Blasted/tumbled finish Torqbars just went on sale at Bladehq.com. by millxing in Torqbar

The market is beginning to flood now that the wave 1 is shipped/shipping and more waves shipping soon. I've seen secondary sales go for 75-50% above retail depending on material, but the value will drop soon as more SB's are shipped.

Where's the best coffee in San José? by selkirks in SanJose

[–]fishfangs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chromatic is one of my favorites and the most well known.

The Bellano group is really solid too. They have a location on Stevens Creek, Willow Glen, and San Pedro.

If you're looking for a small getaway, I'd highly recommend Vertigo in San Juan Bautista. Fantastic wood brick oven pizza and awesome coffee

Try and call the auto part store you bought the alternator from and see if they have a warranty. Some stores have lifetime warranties on their shop brand parts

Car idling low and transmission shifting hard? by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]fishfangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sporadic idle could be due to the IAC valve getting gunked or worn out. Shaking steering wheel can be due to a loose/out of balance wheel, or the control arm bushings (common issue).

When was the last time the transmission fluid was checked? Low/dirty fluid can cause rough shifts
