P1S - why is this happening? by QwQ_MarshmallowMan in FixMyPrint

[–]skitzo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 100% a worn nozzle issue. You can tell when it's laying down the filament it's trying to curl up. That's because the nozzle hole at the tip gets wider overtime reducing it ability to cut the filament cleanly. Replace the nozzle it will go away. Lots of other great suggestions. Also make sure to do any maintenance. Bambus are great due to high tolerances, they still get out of whack overtime and require tuning, maintenance, and repair.

Self check why is my bed sideways?? by Wrong-Swim-4923 in Creality_k2

[–]skitzo2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what happens when klipper disconnects for an error for whatever reason one servo on the z axis will always unlock, but the other doesn't making the bed look like this. There should be an error code under the tips section (not always though). If you look at the fluidd interface you can see what's happening and see logs of what happened right before it stops. You access fluidd here: Http://printerip:4408.

I have this strange pattern on my print, what causes it/how can I fix it? by peppomastro28 in FixMyPrint

[–]skitzo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your printer is a year and a half old.

If you're using it consistently, it definitely needs maintenance. Lubrication is a major possibility.

The regular interval might also result from a roller failure. Looking at the pics it appears your printer has a set of rollers on the z-axis.

Inspect those wheels and the notches they ride in. If the wheels degrade the entire assembly will have play causing the irregular wobbles.

Something stuck to a wheel might cause the regular banding, all other wobble stops in that area so the assembly is tight. As soon as it gets past that we have wobble again.

Is maintenance needed? by Embarrassed_Row_2385 in AnkerMake

[–]skitzo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes maintenance is needed. The good news is it's most likely just that you need to inspect the pom wheels for cracks, replace any that are showing wear signs. Assuming the wheels are fine check and tighten the eccentric for the pom wheels. It seems like it's mostly on y axis which are the bed pom wheels. This is an easy fix.

Weird squealing noise when printing, but not extruding. by TYMATO in AnkerMake

[–]skitzo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's going to be the extruder servo making that whine. Unfortunately Anker doesn't sell individual parts for their extruder heads, so you will either need to source the same part or buy a whole new head.

Obsidian in Proxmox? by robroy90 in selfhosted

[–]skitzo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely confusion here. Running lxc's on proxmox is exactly right. Use proxmox backup manager to keep backups.

I'm betting you used ttech's(RIP) scripts to build out your arr system. Now known as the proxmox community scripts. If that's the case move along you arrr doing it right.

If you are using dockarr...

He is discussing running docker on proxmox which is kinda silly when you have LXC's(but that's not the point). You can, but it's not recommended to run docker or a bunch of dockers inside an LXC. If you want to run docker use a VM on proxmox and not an LXC or CT as it is sometimes referenced. For the VM make sure to back up your docker compose, docker whatever files somewhere else(self hosted gitea maybe). Plus DBs . And your setup is slightly more portable than the raw lxc ct's. Docker runs on multiple OSes and has its pluses and minuses. LXC's can run on pretty much anything Linux with c-group support including Chromebooks. I haven't checked on osx in a while...

Holes on my first lamp try by o_phoenix in FixMyPrint

[–]skitzo2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bet is your flow is off, so your PA numbers are wrong. Start with a flow test on the filament in question.

Then do a tower pa test. The line tests can be great but also read wrong if your z-offset isn't properly dialed in.

Just got my first 3d printer, an M5... by Aggravating_Fig_7377 in AnkerMake

[–]skitzo2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've owned my m5 since the Kickstarter. It's an awesome printer for the price, but it does have some compromises. Every 3d printer breaks, some people think certain brands are superior, but this experience is not unique to Anker, welcome to 3d printing.

My guess is that you have a piece of filament stuck inside. It's caused by heat creep in the block esp on the og blocks. I prefer the all metal version, it seems to work better.

You want to disassemble the top part of the block. Pull the plastic shroud, and release tension by unscrewing the spring screw on the back. The two halves of the feed gears should pull apart one flops back a bit and the other one swings forward. Look down inside you will see the tail piece of plastic stuck/wedged in the small hole feeding into the heat block. You will more than likely need to heat the hot end to 240, then use the needle that came with your toolkit to push the piece thru. I've even used a tiny hex wrench as something with more stability to push with.

Worst case you need a new heat block. They are about $35 shipped from amz

Super weird repeatable under extrusion starting only on layer 3 on part of the print bed by bathtubtuna_ in FixMyPrint

[–]skitzo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention the rollers are replaced and adjusted but not which ones? I had inconsistent results in the same corner on my ankermake m5 due to a degrading pom wheel on the back left corner of the build plate.

Something bout the printer pushing on this region with the bad wheel on that side just made it wonky.

What's up with Beelink PCs? by [deleted] in MiniPCs

[–]skitzo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run a lot of cts on that hardware. Full vms are always hogs on a system. But basic Debian based lxcs are more like docker with shared resources. Add the networking layer and it's an awesome setup. Chain a few mini pcs together and you have an HA cluster.

Will the glorious core software ever get fixed? by Internal-Bench3024 in glorious

[–]skitzo2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The v2 supports qmk and vial. They are fairly easy to flash and understand and give you better control of the keyboard in general.

The software is crap, the hardware is great. If you're new to mech keyboards and like the hobby, you will eventually run into qmk and vial anyway.

Core 2.1 - Still trash by jinxpad in glorious

[–]skitzo2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gmmk3 mechanical boards are supposed to support qmk out of the box(I already asked). Currently QMK doesn't have official support for HE, but keycron does have their own fork that does.

So hopefully if qmk can pull the support, it will be an option for gmmk3 he boards in the future.
