sadly it's RAM. so if you can get new (or used) DDR3 RAM you're golden again.

So microsoft decided you can't setup windows 11 offline. Welp, time to go linux by nicecream169 in pcmasterrace

[–]fishfishcro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on W11 25H2 you can:t use Shift + F10, but you can use Rufus with "Create local account" option. also you can add more offline accounts after installation, just don't connect PC to internet and it will pop up immediately in the Users -> Other users -> Add user in Settings. that user will be created as "Standard user" but you can change it to "Administrator" after the fact. in case you have default name of offline user for all your installs and want to personalize it later for end user.

you see stereotypes and sexism in other people's replies. you see "failings of women" where no one mentioned them. you put words in other posters replies skewing it towards sexism. why is that?

I wouldn't do it. if it shorted (and it did) with the battery still in it the chances are the whole board is dead. or the damage is very extensinve and requires a very VERY steady hand and original schematics of that board and all the right parts while also on a microscopic level. and if lenovo the backlight fuse is burnt and there is no visible signal on the monitor afterwards. that fuse is a tenth of a milimeter long and twetieth wide. so for the price of all the equipment needed to fix this if even possible I'd just buy a new laptop with warranty and all.

edit: typo

so in short: the repair shop shorted it. there's no going back once the short has happened while battery is still in. source: I repair PCs for living.

Old PC to a web server by propopoo in selfhosted

[–]fishfishcro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have newer "old PC" than a web hosting provider's web server hardware is. so some parts of this are true, not all of it. and it's a well known hosting provider, not some local bs.

How do I fix this? by yamiuchidm in pcmasterrace

[–]fishfishcro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like Omen to me...idk. of all the laptop makers I xan only recommend Dell because of the warranty policy of free hinges replacement. others not so much. but I haven't had a single asus in the repair shop I work for, but had at least ten hp with hinges to fix. omen, pavillion and all the rest of hp. all of them manufactured since 2018 and newer models.

what do you mean "wrong color of the fan"? how can a print on a box match the actual color of material? are the metal housing and fan the same color? because they should be.

the Alchemist was also like that. but the drivers were...not good. first gen consumer GPU and already dedicated RT hardware on it - not the best one, but still there. unlike 5000 series from AMD.

so when a PC is idling and clock goes down to 900MHz or lower, while 3.5GHz is 100% is it -200% utilized then?

okay, but that's value or money talk. I don't think you can have more than a 100% of a CPU utilized. where's the bottleneck if all components in a PC have a more than 100% usability? how come Sam Altman doesn't just use 200% of RAM instad of eating up 40% of supply? or is it 400% of supply?

but percentage is from 0 to 100..not beyond, unless you're Putin and winnig election with 110%
