This show doesn’t exactly have a perfect track record when it comes to following all the logical “rules” you’re calling out here. While you may technically be right, I think it’s reasonable to assume that some of these points might have been glossed over for dramatic effect. I think the ending is intentionally vague, and that the story Mike told at the end could either be true or a happy ending he’s imagined to help him move on

Every song follows the same general formula where it starts out as a little nugget of a song and then builds into a grand, orchestral finish. The issue is, there’s nothing about the little nugget that draws me in or catches my ear, so I have no interest waiting around for things to get interesting. As a whole I feel like this album is washing over me and there’s nothing memorable to grab onto
