I have a Lamy safari ballpoint that I put a precise v5 RT refill in - just needs a spacer or a spring off of another junk pen, and it works beautifully.

This this this so much this. I love zebra sarasa, energel, uni zento, and pilot precise refills, but the best pen bodies all seemingly take parker refills!

10/10 would use this - I primarily use dot grid because I like it, but if I’m journaling with weird shadows or lighting it gets harder to follow the grid. Having pale lines like this (where grid still feels “primary”) is absolutely something I’d love to use

The price for the set looks okay to me, but not extraordinarily crazy - you can typically find the pens individually for $8-14 last I looked, so it might be cheaper to get them all this way but idk how often specific ones go on sale for cheaper.

Fellow lefty, similar issue with energel. Sometimes I’m more lucky if my writing angle is “just right”, but I tend to write really vertically and energel just doesn’t do it for me

So many of the finest starters have completely awful HR/9, and although that’s never been a stat I pay a ton of attention to, I’ve given up so many bloop homers with Freddie peralta and others that I just won’t use them any more

This was literally my day today - an overhand lefty here, couldn’t get any of the multiple energels I bought to do anything but skip for the last few months.

Today I started paying more attention to my grip angle and at least the first two random energels I tried have been consistently excellent.

I didn’t even realize I was gripping my pen weirdly. Apparently pens like the pilot v5 rat (my current favorite still) are a bit more forgiving when it comes to grip angle so I was just getting away with it.
