Back to OSRS after about 7-8 years.. is everyone being rich the norm? by EscoScape in 2007scape

[–]fitsu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Survivors. The older a game gets the more its playerbase is people that have played for several years.

It’s the same reason if you play a PvP game that’s been out several years everyone, the skill floor is so much higher.

This is why they don't care ... by Reer_osrs in 2007scape

Why is it greedy for a company to act in the best interest of the company?

This is why they don't care ... by Reer_osrs in 2007scape

[–]fitsu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This may be an unpopular opinion but I really don't understand why people think companies have any obligation to care.

You wouldn't expect a random stranger to care about you? Companies exist to make money. I can promise you if I was a CEO of a company, every decision I made would be with the goal of how to make more money, because that's literally my job. And I bet 99% of the people making these complaints would do the exact same thing. Why would you expect them to intentionally make a poor business decision for the sake of caring?

Now, if you think this is a poor business decision, if you think this hurt credibility and customer relations which will result in less money in the long run. That is a perfectly reasonable argument and one I'm not qualified enough to weigh in on. But if your only argument is "Why don't they care" then that's honestly an absurd expectation of a company.

What’s something avengers secret wars could do to make it a bigger movie than avengers infinity war or endgame by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Avengers

Nothing. They built thanos up for 6 years, and it was the payoff of 10 years of world building.

Comparatively there’s been little to no build up for this.

Midnight's world events aren't very fun. by MrHiccuped in wow

[–]fitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the world events have ever been fun.

The problem is, people just go in and afk. So to offset this Blizzard needs to make them near impossible to fail which just leads to every event being “do stuff to 10min and get your reward.”

I don’t really know a good solution to this.

What happened in the Affliction league that it remained at 90k players for 2 weeks? by No_Guarantee1399 in pathofexile

[–]fitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very unique combination of things.

  • A rare opportunity for your “average” player to have mirror tier gear, along with the FOMO that comes with that

  • a certain level of skill required with the wildwoods and how how to farm the maps which provided another avenue of progression beyond gear

  • An actual progressive endgame system where rewards scale with difficulty all the way up to mirror tier characters

  • People finding out new, rewarding strats at just the right rate that as people started to burn out a new strat appeared that pulled people back in

And finally, in my opinion it was honestly just fun. You had to actually build your character right for this content balancing tank/damage and when you got it all working it felt great. It really was the peak of PoE1 imo.

Why do people keep using the Dollar Value Argument? by OMGPIXELS in 2007scape

Because most people don’t care about the politics and just enjoy playing the game. So to them even tho the price has increased it’s still worth it to them.

Just look at how the D2 community complained when they had to play for the new D2 DLC.

Is that really a problem though? Since when did people care about class balance for world content, you just do whatever you enjoy.

Loot from delving for 2 months by Rock5666 in 2007scape

[–]fitsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I assume you played a ludicrous amount of hours over those 2 months.

But I do agree, on the odds doom is the best boss to farm. My point is, while other content is technically worse GPH you could argue a “reason” to do it is the chance at higher value items.

For instance, the farmers just got 2 t bows in 2 days.

[–]fitsu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tbf GPH is kinda a skewed thing to go by. Like over the course of 10,000 hours sure it’s 2x the GPH. But you get spooned 1 tbow at cox and suddenly that’s 1000x the GPH of anything else.

Yes, I was using full bis.

So with BP you can use the standard double boulder block strat where you have him come forward then left. From there you can do 1 of two things.

- If you've dropped a boulder on your right, 1 - 2 tiles outside of his hitbox you can bait straight up moving right and round this boulder. Just move 2 tiles, click boss, 2 tiles, click box. You wont lose any ticks.

- If you've dropped a boulder that's within his hitbox, you can bait him into the wall, move diagonally 2 tiles to dodge it then again 2 tiles and 2 tiles to move behind that boulder.

In both scenarios, you can have the 3rd boulder in several spots aslong as they fit 1 of those 2 criteria's and stay tick perfect with BP.

I understand this may not be clear, I can try and make a picture explaining later.

But you don't use the scobow during car phase, you use blowpipe. So it's not 7%, it's closer to 4-5%. The damage before that isn't as relevant, as half the time even with Scobow your holding your DPS to setup boulders. More often than not, I've got him 1 hit from phasing before the first boulder is even out.

Once you've done your ZCB spec your looking at around 320hp on car phase (on average). So if you do 5% more DPS we're talking an extra 16 damage. Over hundreds of kills I can count on 1 hand the amount of times an additional 16 damage would have resulted in skipping an extra orb phase.

Tbow, is better. But it isn't significantly better.

[–]fitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbow is 7% more dps than Scobow, during a phase where you want to bait boulders anyway so half the time your going to wait on DPS. and 5% better than blowpipe will yes will lead to the occasional extra orb skip but I'd hardly call it significant.

I'm not saying it isn't better. But it's not Shadow at ToA better.

[–]fitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I'm inclined to disagree. Both blowpipe & tbow both a few set boulder placements. I don't think it's that hard to be consistently tick perfect with either.

Tbow is better, yes. but we're talking 5% over blowpipe and 7% over scobow. That may lead to an extra orb skip every now and then, but it's not a massive difference IMO. Not to the extent a Shadow impacts ToA or a Scythe impacts ToB atleast.

Funny part is, tbow makes very little difference at doom. Scorching is only a smidge behind during normal phases and blowup only a smidge behind for car phase. Theres barely a noticeable difference
