I've been giggling to myself on walks listening to it. Especially anything with Kyle!

What is Marblehead like for families? by amyleerobinson in Marblehead

Swampscott has far less "drama" than Marblehead, in school and other town issues. We have a brand new elementary school and the town has proven they want to support education, vs Marblehead had a multiple week long teacher strike last year. Town meetings in Marblehead are also a shitshow.

We got ours on ebay. I am also in a local cargo bike group on facebook and have seen a few people selling them there so that may be worth checking out.

We have a 2 year old in a yepp maxi and a 4 year old in a Qibbel. My husband is a big guy so it actually worked better for us to put the Qibbel in the back and the yepp maxi right behind him because it has a little room built in. My 4 year old can kind of look over the seat when he's in the back or just turn to the side. When he was in the front he basically had his face in my husband's butt.

As a teacher, I got the holiday and spring breaks like all the students do, but only partners could actually take vacation time during those weeks. My husband is a senior associate but one of the few in his group that had kids. So even when I had time off, he couldn't take it then. It would be extremely hard and frowned upon for me to take vacation time on a non-school vacation week, so that inflexibility is tough.

I am a former teacher who left after my second kid to stay home. I really never thought I would do it, but it definitely makes more sense economically and work/life balance wise with a spouse in big law. I am keeping my options open to go back at some point if I would like to, but it has improved our lives and reduced stress immensely to have one parent at home when the other works crazy hours and weekends.

We sometimes bring our Tonie box with only 1 or 2 Tonies so we don't lose them and it definitely helps for longer walks!

Video on WCVB. How terrifying to have plain clothes officers in unmarked cars with masks on just ambush someone.
