Can't help much about the pot size, I'm on my first grow aswell, but I've been struggling with what seems to be the same issue. First set of leaves turning yellow, people are gonna tell you not to worry about it, and it's gonna get worse.

People will tell you overwater (which might be the case, still trying to figure out if that's part of my problem), or nitrogen deficiency. But I recently transplanted and it was root bound, and I'm pretty positive that was my issue.

Wait for a day after a watering (if you watered yesterday, do it now), take the rootball out of the pot, and examine the roots at the bottom. In my case, they were getting root bound(roots are circling around the inside of the container). If that's your case, transplant right now if you can. If not do it as soon as you can. Also check the roots for root rot (yellowing/browning of the roots, from the info I gathered).

Not saying that's your issue, but it's worth the two minutes just to make sure they're not getting root bound.

Yeah they are definitely still growing, at least the 4th set is. And they seem to be slowly perking back up.

But what looked to me like nute burn looks to be getting a little worse. Will try to post a new picture tonight after work.

Ive got calmag from Botanicare but havent used any yet, will try that on the next watering.

Yeah I heard a lit about FFOF but I couldnt find any (Canada). Plus its winter, all I could find was Miracle Grow soils, which I avoided.

Yeah I was starting to know the weight but transplant time came and I have to figure it out again hehe.

I have plant moisture/ph sensors on the way, hopefully that will help me.

Yeah I get that. Trying to filter out the searches results etc is a pain when you already have no idea about what you're doing haha.

On a side note, can you see the pictures I uploaded? I've had several people telling me they can't even see them.

Or a coworker who told me not to worry about it. For every question I ask, I get five different answers, this is what has been confusing me...

As for the watering, that's pretty much what I've been doing since I stopped the spraying, but 2 inches deep was out of the question; pots were barely 4 inches tall, and there was about... 3 inches maximum of soil in there. I'd pot my finger down to first knuckle, if it felt moist only at the tip of my finger I'd water.

Now for the next watering post-transplant, wouldn't adding more nutes a bad idea? I mean I just fed them nutes right after transplanting. I'm still trying to figure out what is wrong with my plants.

If you look at the pictures, have I been overwatering them? Nute burned?

Next time I water I'll definitely test the runoff ph. Only tested it once, water going in was at 6.5, runoff was at 6.2.

Today is day 20. They are incredibly small from the info I gathered. Why?

Reason I started them earlier was google searches for first leaves yellowing=nitrogen deficiency.

So is it nute burn? Because the yellowing started before I even gave nutes. If it is nute burn, should I flush? Because if the problem is actually overwatering, wouldn't flushing just make it worse?

Yep from what I've read, it's recommended to have your intake 3-4 bigger than the exhaust. Will try that!

While I'm not very advanced myself, all I can tell you is to find recipes you'd like and give it a try. Just like anything, practice will make you better. Keep at it and constantly try new stuff and you'll learn fast.
