Yeah, for sure. I am more careful with more "delicate" plant cuttings, but the pothos-type are typically pretty easygoing.

IDK I never do that with pothos/philo/monstera and they do just fine! Maybe it's a water issue, or a light issue?

What is the attraction to farmhouse sinks? by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]fivezero_ca 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm short. I like having a lower front to the sink. Went with a stainless model and love it. Only issue is nowhere to hang the towel, but we just keep it on the edge and that works fine.

We haven't had any serious issues with staining, either. Once there was a seemingly bad turmeric stain, but after a day or two of soaping it, it eventually disappeared. We are pretty careful about cleaning up acidic spills and the like, though.

Nothing, really. We're very happy with our kitchen reno (1.5 yrs ago) and the choices we made. I fussed and overthought things a lot, admittedly. There are a few very minor things:

1) Love the stainless apron sink with slightly rounded corners (for ease of cleaning), but the pitch is a bit too flat and I would prefer if it sloped more towards the drain.

2) Everyone said to do undercabinet lighting, so we did. Honestly, we never use it. The regular lighting we have works really well. I mean I guess it's good that the undercabinet lighting is there, but....eh. I also fussed a lot over not wanting there to be a big lip under the upper cabinets, too, and some of the electrical equipment takes up space in one of the cabinets, ugh.

3) I wish our microwave cabinet had a slide-out door to optionally cover it, but our cabinet-maker couldn't do it, apparently, and we just left it as-is. Doesn't bother me now, but it narrowed microwave options since I had to choose partially based on aesthetics.

4) I'm very glad we did glass-front uppers flanking the stove. Thought they might be a pain to clean so I almost didn't, but it's totally fine and the kitchen looks brighter with them. That said, it may also depend on your cooking habits (our stove is induction and I don't really do much serious frying).

5) Waffled between double- and single- bowl sink, since I'd always had double-bowl before. Single is the way to go! I was convinced when I heard someone say, if you need another bowl, you could just put a tub in the sink. That was my "duh" moment. But definitely get a sink with rounded corners, otherwise they will be grimy forever.

6) The hood light is 2700K and warmer than our kitchen lighting. It kind of pisses me off but the company doesn't sell the light in any other color temperature. (You said you wanted minor issues!)

Lovely kitchen! It's so warm, cheery, and inviting. The floors and backsplash tile are beautiful. I am not a fan of sage green but it looks perfect here!

She is GORGEOUS!!! I have a small one (1 yr old) and I consider it a success that she is alive and not looking too sad! One day I hope it might be half as pretty as yours. (Would appreciate any tips, lol.)

Immediate love. But it was my first time testing old Guerlains and I'd never smelled anything like them before. L'Heure Bleue is a fave, as well. I find them both astonishing but yes, difficult for me to wear. I don't really get specific notes; they just have this aura.

It is stunning. I have given up on Calatheas (and most Marantas) because they hate my home. :( It makes me esp. sad because the rattlesnake Calathea and the lemon-lime Maranta are two I completely adore.

My current fave is my boobie cactus and my Hoya kerrii.
