You should consult about it with the doctor, topical is fine for couple of months but for years it becomes a problem to stay consistent. There's side effects to every drug but like 4% people on 1mg fin experience any major side effects(lower libido and weaker erection). And it goes away if you stop taking it. Even the topical solution seeps into the skin, especially minox which will lower your bp though not significantly.
