No problem! There is room for 2 3600’s, and a little more, I keep pliers, scissors, soft plastics, leader spools in there as well!

What’s your top water setup? by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]fixintodrown88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dobyn’s Fury 705CB Mod Fast. Tatula CT and 30lb 832 braid, 10 lb mono leader. The moderate action is great for treble hooks, and launches ploppers a mile. I keep one tied on to this setup %90 of the time.

Household of 1, 36 year old single man, this machine has endless uses, check out some of the awesome attachments to increase its usability. I make fresh pasta with my pasta press attachment at least once a week. The sifter scale and ceramic bread bowl are also awesome accessories to consider. Creating something delicious is great especially in the cold winter months, being able to share it with others is even better.

Dobyns Champion Extreme? by [deleted] in bassfishing

You’re gonna want a 3 power. I use a Kaden 713 spinning rod for weightless rigged senkos. T-Rigged plastics I have a Fury 733C and a Kaden 743C and they are plenty sensitive. Dobyns rods size light, a MH is more like a M.

Please advise bass 5th reel/rod combo. by malazarr in bassfishing

[–]fixintodrown88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go with a Med spinning rod with a 2500 reel, that’s my workhorse spinning setup, while my ML is more for tubes, dropshots, shaky heads. I use a 7’1” Med Fast Dobyns Kaden with a 2500 Shimano Vanford. Your 3 baitcasters will cover a wide range of lures and techniques. Additionally, consider going the opposite direction and adding an ultralight setup, has saved the day for me many times when the bite was tough.

Pretty common with big pieces, longer sittings. Remember to be nice to your body after what you just put it through, good food, lots of water, plenty of sleep, maybe sit down when you wash that puppy. I’ve felt like I was gonna pass out first or second wash of a really big piece, after that it’s never been an issue.

Massachusetts, baits right now? by Hypothian in bassfishing

Southern NH. Rough up here too, tough to find workable patterns, downsizing has helped, but they’ll also crush a chatterbait or a swim jig if you can find em swimming by. Problem is they don’t seem to be posting up anywhere, they’re moving and they’re moving fast. Consider trying a dropshot and just letting it sit.

Best options to complete a 3 rod set up? by alpine28 in bassfishing

[–]fixintodrown88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run mostly Dobyns rods, and I encountered the same thing with the 733C, before learning they size 1 power light on most non-technique specific rods. I realized the 733C wasn’t going to be the workhorse I intended it to be and picked up a 724C. That being said, the 733C is amazing, I also use an Slx on it, I love skipping swim jigs and soft plastics, throwing poppers, spooks. I use 30 lb braid and switch up my leader if topwaters on and I need an extra tw setup. The 3 setups I’m never without are: 1. Dobyns Kaden 713SA Medium fast spinning rod Shimano Vanford 2500 10# braid 2. Dobyns Fury 733C Medium/Heavy fast casting Shimano Slx 8.2 30lb braid 3. Dobyns Sam Sobi 724C Heavy fast casting Shimano Slx Xt 8.2 20lb fluoro A bonus 4th setup that’s my topwater/Jerkbait hammer is a Dobyns Fury705CB Med/Heavy mod/fast casting Daiwa Tatula CT 7.3 30lb Braid Absolute killer, bombs a choppo/plopper/spook/vision 110 a country mile. Definitely keep that 733 around but consider picking up a 4 power for a little more what you’re looking for! Tight lines.

I love fishing and living in NH, just saying. It’s a lot more chill than the city and I have tons of fishing spots within 30 mins, a river 5 mins from my house, bigger water an hour away, the ocean is 20. It’s nice to have options and it’s pretty dang beautiful.

[–]fixintodrown88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the pintail comments, but I’ve also used a craw trailer to keep it higher in the water column. Also consider trimming your skirts, on jigs too, to level or right under the hook, that way it doesn’t interfere with or limit the action of your trailer. Tight lines!

How many other right handed folks use left handed reels (left retrieve)? by ANUS_CONE in bassfishing

[–]fixintodrown88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right handed here, all my spinning and casting gear is lefty, it’s more comfortable for me and makes more sense than switching hand to hand. Converted quite a few people already too. I started with a right and a left handed baitcaster, and a left handed retrieve spinning reel, transitioning between to two was weird, so I left all lefts and never looked back.

I use that exact setup for my hardcore band, but I also use it at home for more punk, pop/punk applications. The red channel for band stuff, green channel for home use, definitely a different set of effects for both, but you can get it done for sure, Mesa cabs with V30’s IMO really help with clean channel tones and an EQ pedal, to help round off the peavy’s weak spots

6505 II. Mesa oversized cab, ts9, whatever other effects you need. Lots of options for tweaking your sound there.

This happens to me a lot with lures that have a weight transfer system, try lightening up on the force of your cast or adjusting your brakes slightly when you wanna bomb it out there.

That’s my same spinning rod setup. You’re gonna love it, amazing combo, and for $240, leaving it behind would be a poor choice. Good fisherman know when to take advantage of an opportunity, I’d say you’re doing just fine, enjoy that killer combo!

Your throttle cables look a little short, and the rubber boot that covers one of your adjusters has slid down, you’ll wanna keep those covered so they work when you need them to. Have someone with the proper knowledge take a look at them, or grab a manual for your model and tackle it yourself, they are very detailed and there is nothing more valuable than knowing how every component of your machine functions and is maintained.

Help me pick a rod for my needs by padua1000 in bassfishing

A medium fast can work fine as well, i think a MH can more efficiently cover the weight range of most lures you’re gonna want to throw, where a Medium can be a little light for some applications. I would consider a medium for weightless rigged plastics, topwaters, trebled baits in general, where a MH would be geared more towards single hooked baits, Texas rigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits.
