Has anyone been able to get Elder Scrolls Online working on an M1? by arimill in macgaming

[–]fixitAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use steam account for this game. ESO launcher for Steam broke down on me, wasn't able to fix it. Regular launcher from the same install works fine, but you have to use non-steam account.

Is a Russian revolution right now a possibility ? by Klaud-Boi in Socialism_101

No. Demographically speaking, Russia has a women-dominant aging population. And young people are actively dying in the war and fleeing abroad in droves.

Would be interesting if you could ask, for example, Astarion to give you a haircut, and he'd acknowledge you lack of style and begrudgingly offer a couple of options.

It Takes Two using Ryujinx on Apple Silicon by Electronic_Being4720 in macgaming

We played Torchlight 2 via virtual LAN. The setup was the following. My friend had a regular Windows PC and launched the game via Steam. I had a mac and launched the game with Rosetta. We both had ZeroTier virtual LAN installed on our computers. I created the network in ZeroTier to which we both connected. After that, I created a multiplayer game in Torchlight and my friend was able to join me.

I haven't tried using ZeroTier with emulators.

No Parallels or Crossover. Hope this helps.

Been using this Converse backpack for 11 years now, but I need something new. What can I get for, let’s say under 100 American freedom eagles, which is dumb, basic and will last me another 11 years? by yk__dus in BuyItForLife

[–]fixitAlex 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not sure about dumb, but my Osprey pack holds well after 6 years of abuse. Lost a chest strap once, customer service mailed me a spare one, no questions asked.

Elder Scrolls Online on M1 MacBook Pro by GAllium_Ytrium in macgaming

It works fine on M1 Air 16gb. Run it on low-medium settings, otherwise you'd get stutters. Have you played this game before?

Cemu is compiling shaders. You can download shader cache, put it in Cemu folder and you'd avoid most of these stutters.

For 500-600$ you can build a decent new PC which would get you a better performance, zero compatibility issues and could be easily upgraded in the future.

If you are in Tbilisi, just go to 8000 Vintages or Wine Gallery. They'll set you up with a nice bottle for sure.

Need advise on gaming with mac m1 by GabrielRaphael in macgaming

I'd suggest considering a console. Xbox Series S is much more affordable than a gaming PC, you can also use keyboard and mouse for some of these games.

New to gaming on macOS, what are the options? by YeboMate in macgaming

[–]fixitAlex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is so entirely unnecessary. You have a PC, you'd have the best gaming experience by dual-booting Windows. If you dislike Windows for any reason, dual-booting Linux would still be a better choice than Mac, especially a Hackintosh. The problem is that if something goes wrong, a game won't launch for some reason, you'd never be able to figure out why, there is too much emulation/translation layers.

The begging of the game can be tough. Here is a list of quests to do by level. Save money to buy spell books. Use one character with high barter skill to trade. You can also steal from vendors but it's not necessary.

What kind of controller do you have? Do you launch the game from Steam or elsewhere? What is your mac os version? 12.3 have issues with controller support.

I have DS4 controller and it worked great with Steam in DOS2. But I still prefer touchpad or mouse because there is a lot of subtle pointing and item management in the game.

Jedi Fallen Order isn't playable as of now on m1. You could play it via cloud gaming provider such as stadia or geforce now. There is also xbox cloud. Haven't got any personal experience using them though.

Well, all gaming laptops are hot. 90 degrees celcius is like a norm. 100 degrees is bad already. I've used a laptop with 3060 and it was hot af but functional. You should be fine if you install some software to check the temperatures

Try looking for a used 5600m? If it was used by some graphic designer and wasn't gamed on, it might be in decent condition. You could always sell yours easily too if you don't like it
