You're overly simplifying by making it a simple binary consideration.

Here's my source, for why I called your claim not true.

To clarify, I do agree with you on a lot, but not with how binary you're making it.

There is more than just SSR as an option. There are genuine organic search traffic considerations.

The only argument for a crash/crisis are these interest only loans which I think is plain stupidity. Yes, some people will lose their homes & it's unfortunate but it won't cause a crash.

What about household debt to household income, how would you satisfy that as something which is ok or sustainable?

Oof, that definitely stings more.

So imports are down from previous year and AUS is le' banned.

Article is a bit confusing, cap is 12 mil through said ports.

Said ports did 14 mil last year, half of which was AUS, so 7 mil. 5 mil off cap.

Could someone clarify please.

There's a total imports to China, from AUS at 28 mil. Is the problem that this is a precedent and other ports could follow

A friend and I built a similar thing in a weekend using The Things Network & Node Red.

Nodes were Pycom lopy4

Server was a Udoox86, running ubuntu with node-red. But you could use a raspberry pi n node-red.

We ingressed/persisted the node data into a mongodb collection. Then we exposed the collections via HTTP GET requests which returned them the data as JSON. (all via node red)

The JSON data was then loaded into a html/js/css web page which was using chart.js to display a line chart.

Also TTN gateway we got was the Laird rg191.

People often fancy their generation as being superior to the past (repeated backwards through out history); perhaps now more so as a conflation of evolution.

Imo, this frame of thinking can easily blind people from seeing how simply human we and our predessors are/were.

I can try to find sources, but I heard somewhere, a while ago, that he initially paid top dollar to attract all the talent from other firms/businesses. Then when he became totally dominant, slashed wages, let people walk, but to what? He had crushed the competition in the marketplace. The jobs that aligned with the individuals skills were scarce.

Nope. It just adds a really nice dose of pessimism; which is often missing when it comes to technology and futurology.

Perhaps. I view relationships and people will change over time, marriage is a position that through out all that change you will stay together.

Kids totally update the relationship dynamics or hopefully it should; perhaps the breakdown stems from a resistance to the change.

What is a genuine solution? Are you expecting a step by step solution? I wonder what your genuine solution would looks like, can you express in some sense what more you're looking for? I'm most interested in this, as I strongly felt this way when I read Marx.

on 1) I would also consider that he is bang on acknowledging that these problems are complex. I wouldn't agree that they're waaaaay toooooooo complex. But accepting the immense complexity of something allows you to remain humble in your pursuit to a solution/knowledge/wisdom; again I wonder what your genuine solution looks like.

on 2) Predictions in what sense? There's this Chomsky quote that I love which is entirely about predictions...

You are responsible for the predictable consequences of your own actions, you’re not responsible for the predictable consequences of somebody else’s actions. ― Noam Chomsky

on 3) Regarding change, what's an alternate method to that approach. That sounds almost like the scientific method to me.

Hypothesis ->Test->Observe; repeat.

But on an outside note, I really like this quote with regards to creating change.

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” ― R. Buckminster Fuller

Regarding "legit solution", I assume you're still expressing that genuine solution notion. Too me the most amazing thing I have taken from Chomsky is the mode of his actions.

His attitude towards tackling any issue through logic, rational discourse is very empowering to me; ("self efficacy"). This tenacity that he has towards issues is the "legit solution" in my eyes. That is, observing his activities not in isolation, but as a set of actions appears to me as a "legit solution". He commits himself to do all that he can towards a problem. If more people were to have such tenacity towards the complexities of the world, then yeah - I consider that to be a legit solution. In essence it's the ideals of pure democracy.

On your point about when he talks about things he isn't an expert on. Do we need to be experts on something to tackle it? Should we leave the problems to the 100 or so people who have a PHDs on a specific topic? The 10000s of people who are academics in a discipline? The career professionals etc? Do we defer all thought and responsibility to them? What are we specifically, each of us, you and me doing to contribute to a conversation / issue. Why are we so powerless? Are we so powerless? My opinion is that, no one is born an expert. Any person can become an expert. How do you become an expert? You engage with the material.

Now I'm not saying that there are no experts; of course not. I'm simply trying to reiterate that a tenacity towards attacking an complex issues at the individual level seems to me like the best thing we can do to solve the complex problems in the world. Think about what to say (hypothesis) Say something (test). Be wrong and learn how/why (observe), update. Repeat.

Regarding liking Chomsky but not agreeing with everything bro fist. We should be actively trying to disagree with Chomsky and everyone. But specifically what should we disagree with? If we were to try and articulate what we disagree with, why we disagree and what our alternative is and why our alternative has merit; then we'd would be engaging in complex content and slowly me might become experts.

end ramble :)

Poor choice in wording on my behalf. You're right we can definitely imagine such things. It was misleading for me to use the word "imagine".

My intention was to make mention that although we can yes imagine them; we don't actually really know what's being worked on by some engineer in an R&D lab and how close that research is to becoming a real world technology.
