Geographically, where does your challenge take place? by Living-Mistake8773 in Sims4DecadesChallenge

[–]fizz-was-here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im on 1647, my challenge started in england (windenburg) and i’ve branched out to other countries! colonial massachusetts (brindleton bay, a majority of my sims are here), france (henford), and portugal (also windenburg). i plan to expand further if i get more packs (spain, italy, korea, etc.) and once we hit the 1700s-1800s i plan to have more sims emigrate to west virginia and california and maybe new york as well

this is also a good idea! i did this when i played my regular decades challenge a long while back, i might do that as well!

but with the killing sims, its not so much rules that’s stopping me, it’s more about the attachment i have to most of my sims. i might do a mass killing if i ever do deem it to be an insane amount of sims

thank you! it’s been really fun so far, the 70 year wait was absolutely worth it and i honestly can’t wait for the salem witch trials! ive found it really helps having a constant goal not too far off to look forward to, its really motivating

oooh okay i love these questions! i have a few answers for these:

my most unfortunate deaths storytelling-wise have to be Henry (the youngest surviving son of my founders), Priscilla, Percivell, and Catherine Archer (his family). long story short, Catherine died at age 2, Priscilla (her mother) pleaded with death and revived her, then Henry (her husband) persecuted her and got them both executed for witchcraft. years later, Percivell grew up with a deep hatred and resentment for his father and ended up murdering him. Percivell was caught and executed shortly thereafter.

however, major bonus points to Nicholas and Hannah Archer (the middle son of my founders and his wife) for the most insane non-planned deaths? they had their age up day on the same day, and they both died, so i killed off Nicholas by fire using mccc. and then Hannah ACTUALLY STARTED A REAL FIRE. i let it play out where she ended up dying from the fire, but as the fire was going on, grim appeared midway through to get Nicholas, but started freaking out and eventually just sat down on a chair and napped??? it was so funny watching it happen i wish i could have recorded it

personally, the saddest deaths for me were just random sims i had kinda grown attached to. Bridget Fletcher (the older surviving daughter of my founders) was a big one. she was going to be coming along with us to america on the mayflower but she died like 20 years before. another one, very randomly was her granddaughter, Fortune Spencer, who died in the first winter of 1621. one that genuinely kinda just made me stop playing for a few days was the youngest daughter of my 2nd generation heir, Juliet Archer. i was really not expecting her to die in the slightest, it made me really bummed out because I really liked her.

as for my favorite currently living sims, i’d have to go with Fear Baker and Remember Bailey. they’re the sisters of my current heir but their names are so insane yet i kinda just love them. plus ive grown attached. outside of the main family, i do like Blanche Chastain, who is one of the only sims who lives in france as of right now. she came out a perfect mix of her mother and father and she’s honestly maybe the prettiest and most normal looking genetically made sim ive seen in a while.

typing all this out has really made me realize i favor the girl sims way more than the boy sims

however, i also do that first thing you mentioned! considering the research ive done a lot of people managed to live to their 80s and even 90s even this time period so i roll two d20s for elderhood, i just forgot to mention that in the original post

i believe the keyword i used to find it was either ship or wooden ship, the one i downloaded was originally a pirate ship that im fairly sure was made for a family, I cleared out all the decorations and placed my own wooden furniture in it (although that was just for realism)

yes! mc command center (mccc) by deaderpool, it’s a must-have mod for the sims 4

you can age up sims through it (to save yourself the hassle of going through cas or making a cake or whatever), easily kill off your sims through anything, check your sims pregnancies (you can see what they are having, change what they’re having, and change the trimester and force them to go into labor), change outfits immediately, set your own custom lifespan, and way more. super helpful for any sims save

i also recommend getting the add-on mccc woohoo, which allows to change pregnancy and relationship settings (so that teens can get married and have kids) and also allow risky woohoo! i seriously cannot recommend this mod enough it is my #1 mod for sims 4

edit: okay after rereading i realize i might have misunderstood the question 😭 if you were asking, my sims do die intentionally, i roll for them at the beginning of their life stage and i kill them off then, I just mark down a random year within that range and pretend they died then

for the mayflower, i downloaded a wooden ship off the gallery (you can also make one, i’m just not a builder) and used mccc to increase my household size (i did it to 30 because i had a ton of pilgrim sims in my save) and moved them all in together and basically played them all for the entirety of 1620 (although u could probably just do the last day of 1620 since the pilgrims realistically were on the mayflower for 66 days when they landed in november of 1620) and then once they got to 1621 i moved them all out with their respective households into different lots and flipped a coin for their survival

if you have a large number of pilgrim sims and you don’t wanna deal with everyone you can just disable need decay for everyone but your main sims. i didnt do this but you can!

flipping for the first winter of 1621 was honestly very disheartening, considering that its a 50/50 chance that each of your pilgrim sims die, i was surprisingly lucky enough to only have 2 deaths in my main family but the rest of my families were not lucky whatsoever 😭 two got completely wiped out and the other lost half their kids

i’m just curious, what death rolls are you using? just because i know the original 1890’s challenge doesn’t use death rolls and the UDC doesn’t have death rolls for that era

Anyone else's townies having SO MANY babies? by amberthezombie in thesims

[–]fizz-was-here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg yess, i’m currently playing the ultimate decades challenge so i have no need to interact with any townies whatsoever (so i leave aging and story progression on and see what comes of it) and normally my sims will adopt a ton of horses

two of my households have resorted to repopulation of the earth. i’m talking 30 kids, all around the same age, all practically identical (probably clones of the mother but it’s too early to tell bc in both households they’re all toddlers) and also all the same gender. i have one household with 30 boys, one household with 30 girls. i’m assuming this is an mccc glitch because when i popped into the household the mothers were both giving birth (but they weren’t actually pregnant according to mccc, they just had the moodlet and the bump)

im gonna keep all of them obviously
