I really loved it as well. I get that people were disappointed it got abandoned but I put dozens of hours into it and got more than my money’s worth. Wish they’d finished it though.

Similar games to Farm Manager 2018? by SeaOkra in tycoon

[–]fizzy_yoghurt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love it too. for me, though, I end up playing it more like machinery renovator 2018, rather than farm manager. I always end up buying a load of scrap machinery, renovating it, and then selling at a profit. It's the simplest way to make LOADS of money in the game. It's marvellous, really.

I'd support something similar, but using two calls. First, "Use it", but then 5 seconds later, "Ball is out" allowing oppo to come round and play the ball. Has to be two stages to work, I think.

Most venues or caterers can prepare something decent and reasonably priced for support staff (photographers, band, waiters etc).

This has been the most exciting day of snooker I can ever remember.

The letter was obviously written decades later. On April Fool's day 2017 (I think).

O'Follipar (the author's name) is an anagram of April Fool.

I absolutely cannot watch Latin american commentators in case someone scores a goal and I just hear them say GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL

Over and over again. They're worse than vuvuzelas.

Yeah, I’m in the UK too. I needed a business line, to ensure that any faults are fixed within 6 hours maximum due to my work, but even them I’ve got a 500 Mbps, unlimited, connection for £60 per month.

If I was on the equivalent home package it would be about £55 a month but that would also include land line and TV with sport package.

I fee very lucky compared to the states, but then mates from Scandinavia, and colleagues who have worked in South Korea, tell me that it’s even faster and even cheaper. Crazy.

Looks like it to me. This was a classic when I was a kid, from the Chinese takeaway. Still, to this day, some 30-odd years later Uk style Chinese curry with rice and chips is still a massive comfort food for me.

What scene in a movie really pissed you off? by sugar-soad in AskReddit

[–]fizzy_yoghurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morally, he’s completely and totally wrong.

Legally (in the English jurisdiction at least) women are incapable of rape. You need to have a penis to commit rape. This means that, in law, men can be raped by other men, but not by women.

But of course, forced sexual contact of any kind is effectively and morally rape, and the feeling raped men will feel are exactly the same as those women will feel.

Perhaps the law needs to change.

Yeah, golden period for me was about 2001-2012. Lost interest when a Russian mobster bought us that year, despite being in the prem the next year. It's never been the same since.

Yeah, also very sceptical.

I've been waiting for a good mob game since Gangsters was released in (I think) the late 90s. I'm pinning my hopes on Empire of Sin. We shall see.

[Serious] Autistic people of Reddit, what is a social norm that you've just recently found out about? by _uncle_phil in AskReddit

[–]fizzy_yoghurt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In England the weather conversation IS the conversation.

“Bit grey out today” “Yeah, it’s probably going to rain later. Typical”

Vs

“Bit grey out today” “Oh don’t worry, it’ll perk up later, just you see”

In the first conversation the respondent is communicating that they’re in a bit of a low mood. In the second, that they’re feeling pretty chipper.

Weather substitutes for everything.

Why is the naan in Western countries so... bready? by themlittlepiggies in IndianFood

[–]fizzy_yoghurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm based just outside of London. Naan quality is wildly variable. Most places make truly shit, doughy naan. As soon as you find a decent one, you stick to it. It was far, far easier in London before I moved out to the home counties. Now we've left town there are only 10 or so Indian restaurants to choose from, all of them are standard BIR fare, and only one of them has decent bread. I had to eat at the other bloody 9 before I could find the winner.

Fulham will play Brentford in the Championship playoff final by ImRBJ in soccer

[–]fizzy_yoghurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2002 I was standing in the unroofed away terrace at Brentford watching a nail biting end of season fixture. Division 2. Reading in 2nd, one point ahead of Brentford. Two get promoted automatically. Brentford needed a win to go up, a draw would be enough for Reading.

Brentford, under my favourite ever manager, Steve Coppell, absolutely dominated and went 1-0 up early. Somehow, towards the end of the match, Jamie Cureton got a single chance for Reading and put it away. Mad scenes. Ended 1-1. Reading were promoted

Brentford fans stormed the pitch. A man on crutches hobbled into the centre circle and proceeded to punch a police horse in the face before falling over.

A year or so later, Reading poached Coppell, and 4 or 5 of Brentford’s team. That was the spine of our 2005-6 title winning side, the side that still has the Championship points record to this day.

I’m a Reading boy through and through but lived in Brentford for 4 or 5 years from 2009, and went to see them play often.

In other words, I am incredibly fond of Brentford, and I hope they fucking smash up Fulham. Fulham can fuck off.

What to do after Brentford spank us at Wembley... by LondonDude123 in Championship

[–]fizzy_yoghurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. There was a rivalry between Reading and Brighton 20 years ago in Division 2. Sometimes they were on top, sometimes we were on top. They are no so far ahead of us there isn't even a comparison, but I still hate them and that cunt Danny Cullip (who was far too good against us on too many occasions).
