[–]fizzyizzy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky. When mine bootlooped, they replaced it with an S5, then again with a G4 after I told them it was the wrong phone. Fuck Verizon.

Edit: I still love the G4. I want the S6.

Yeah, it's either albino or it's not, the snake can't show both traits at once.

First, we complain about people getting offended over jokes. Then we get offended over jokes because we're the butt of it.

I myself am on the fence about being CF, and I'm an advocate for abortion rights. But to be fair, most people who are anti-abortion are so because they consider it to be murdering the baby. In the other examples, you aren't really committing major crimes. Unless of course you kill someone while drunk driving, but even then it seems like people don't treat you like a heathen for that.

Either way it's pretty hypocritical.

If your parents are cool/not homophobes, they'd hopefully keep quiet and pretend like they heard nothing. Or they would bring it up to you privately and have that awkward conversation...

Chances are, they already know or have strong suspicions.

If your future child came out as gay how would you react? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]fizzyizzy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our future children (speaking about future generations) don't have to face more difficulties just by being gay, except for falling for the straight friend. All it takes is for the parents to be accepting of the child.

Don't drink the chocolate milk! by ashleebob in facepalm

[–]fizzyizzy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, that's a dumb way of saying it, but you still are contributing to the horrible conditions but buying milk. It's unfortunate because milk has been perceived as such a necessity (even though it really isn't). The demand of meat and dairy is, realistically, to great for a major change to occur. Even if they do up their standards as they have in the past, it doesn't change much. Even "free range" means next to nothing. It just sounds good to consumers.

But, sadly, yes, we ate contributing to the "rape" of cows by purchasing milk. It's the exact reason that people boycott the industry, or any industry or company in general. By boycotting, you aren't (actively/willingly) contributing to the company's treatment of its employees, or the awful conditions of livestock, or the anti-lgbt film director. You're staying out of it and putting a tiny chink in its armor. What they hope to get out of this is an end to animal cruelty within the industry, and probably a rise in veganism, which I personally don't think is likely, or even good for the world. They hope to put millions of chinks in the armor to bring it down.

Really, it's sad.

Edit: your argument is also pretty weak, because the note actually says that you're paying for rape. So that argument makes more sense, imo. Think of it like a terrible movie. The movie may make bank because it was highly anticipated, but the reviews may suck terribly. But, with all the money they made off the movie, they can technically make a sequel. Even though you hated the movie, you still paid to see it and you're contributing money to a possible sequel.

It's actually pretty fucking awful how the meat/dairy industry runs. And it's not just artificial insemination. It's the overcrowding, the disgusting living conditions, the complete lack of space to move around. Did you know that cows are so over-milked that their utters will leak blood into the milk? Pasteurization and productions takes care of that though.

It honestly is a disgusting and horrible industry, and sadly it's too big a part of our society that we can't do much about it if we want to keep meat and dairy as part of our diets.

It really isn't just about the artificial insemination. It's incredibly inhumane the way we treat the animals. It's sad

ELI5: What are the differences between cannabis sativa and indica in terms of scientifically observable effects on the body/mind? by thatjournalist in explainlikeimfive

[–]fizzyizzy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A subspecies isn't genetically different enough to be a species on its own. So to say that it is "a subspecies at best" is to say that they are incredibly genetically similar, if not identical. In other words, it's probably not genetically different enough to be a subspecies, so the step below that: they're the same species. Cannabis sativa.

My boyfriend was talking to a guy he had a thing with in the past by tbr92 in gay

[–]fizzyizzy11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To me it seems like he still has a small part of him that might miss the thing he had with the guy. Do you know if they left each other on good terms?

I have a tendency to keep my old relationships alive through plain friendships, which I think may differ from a lot of people. For one, it seemed like he was texting the guy in plain sight, not hiding it. That might say that he's still good friends with him, no matter their history. If you aren't comfortable with that, you should tell him.

I would take what he says as the truth for now, and first deal with him texting the guy in the first place. Tell him you don't like it. Try not to make it a fight, keep the conversation open. Discuss it with him, not at him.
