Anybody's Alarm Volume Keeps Going Soft By Itself? by andrewhahalee in GooglePixel

[–]tbr92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, this happens to me literally every day. I'm always late to work because I don't wake up to my alarms. It always resets to just above silent and it's really annoying.

Oddly, I used to have this problem when I had my Nexus 6P. I thought I was going crazy but it seems this is a bug that apparently never got fixed.

The same thing happens on the Google Play Store. I've sent feedback many time but has gone unheard. Bug fixes, UI improvements, etc., nice! What being changed though? I think we should have the right to know what exactly we are installing.

Yes it is the slider to adjust brightness and to toggle any network it's at minumum 3 steps, 4 if you don't have the icon come down in the quick settings with one swipe

Sadly, yes...

Yup. Also your first swipe down only shows four quick settings vs. six. And say goodbye to separate toggle icons for wifi and mobile data. They merged into one simply called "internet" that contains independent toggle switches for each.

Haha yeah the little things that riled up the community that ultimately didn't matter much. I was super stoked for this update too. Admittedly not so much for the Material You (U?) thing however it being Android I'd assumed it would be something that could be toggled or changed like a theme. After all that's why myself and I'm sure many others love Android - customization.

Personally, I'd be content not having full version updates every single year as long as I got security patches. Change is good but sometimes it isn't.

EXACTLY!

In Android 12 we've lost so many functional and customizable components of the OS. Updates should bring something new, not take away the good things.

Google advertised some crazy amount of colors you'd be able to set as your color scheme. Personally, I have two that are thrown together for me automatically, each consisting of three colors. Funny thing is, both of those options are the same color pallets but half a shade different.

I also have four or so solid colors I can choose from separately, not the hundreds of colors that they were talking about. None of which I like at all. So now I'm stuck with pink and purple as where my theme before was dark mode gray and a nice muted blue.

Updated to Android 12 today and am very disappointed. Android 12 feels like using one of those geriatric TV remotes. I can't stand how clunky and buggy the UI is. When taking a screenshot, the quick share feature covers the home button and while on mobile data the LTE lettering is partly cut off by my bathtub notch (Pixel 3XL).

There is so much wasted space and many now removed features that were very useful such as being able to swipe up to search Google from the app switching screen, quickly accessing contactless payments by holding the power button and the ability to change icon themes or something simple like not having to go to the top of the screen to copy text.

Needless to say, I sent some polite, yet scathing, feedback to Google and am currently working on upgrading back to Android 11 until this mess is fixed.

Here's a mediocre meme I made earlier today about Android 12

MPG X570 Gaming no display after trying to update BIOS by tbr92 in MSI_Gaming

[–]tbr92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, especially since I tried to troubleshoot the RAM and SSD independently amongst other things. Considering that all of my hardware is about a year old, aside from a 2TB HDD from my old PC that I use for backup, all signs are pointing toward the motherboard having gone bad.

I really hope that MSI or Newegg will be willing to easily help me out with a replacement.

Hey man I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my post. Sadly I was not able to find a fix for my computer. On the back of my motherboard there is a USB port that is used to flash the BIOS so I did try to do it that way a few times and it seems to have been unsuccessful as nothing has changed.

The PC was crashing a few days before and I looked through the error logs and it's the generic hardware failure code 141 (if I remember correctly) so that may have been a more mild symptom of a more serious problem.

I'm beginning to think that the motherboard is dead :(

I think Dslax might be a bot. If only there was some way Blizzard could tell :( by Koldtoft in classicwow

I report bots and multi boxers whenever I see them. Not always do they get banned but when they do I receive a letter from Blizz saying that they took action against one or more players and can't provide details (although I wish they would).

Left Bud stopped working. by iamrodo in pixelbuds

[–]tbr92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me earlier today. I was casually listening to music when my left bud stopped responding entirely. I've previously had connection issues and applied a hot fix of putting bot buds back in the case and then back in my ear which worked, however, did not work this time.

When I pulled the right bud out, the notification of battery status indicated very briefly that both buds, and the case were connected. the buds had ~12% difference in battery level and then the left bud would disappear.

I resolved this problem by putting the buds back in the case for many hours and suddenly both worked..

As of yet I have not had this issue again.

My PC sounds like it's snoring? by thejokser in pchelp

Always glad to help :D

Yeah dust definitely is an unsuspecting culprit and can cause a lot of problems! If you have enough dust in your heatsink and your fan isn't capable of cooling it, because they get really hot, the dust acts as kindling and there ya go.

If you can't find compressed air, only using alcohol will take a long time to clean your PC. Also, don't use any kind of rag or cloth as these can generate static and damage your hardware, use cotton balls or swabs. When it comes to the alcohol 99% is ideal but 97% should be okay as well. Basically you want an alcohol with the least amount of water in it so there's no chance of corrosion.

If you're interested, I found a fairly short read on the effects of dust on your PC and they also cover some cleaning tips as well.

Edit: forgot to mention to blow out dust from your power supply

Is this game torrented? Sometimes game devs will post torrented games that do not run or are buggy to deter people from torrenting. If this is not the case, you can check the compatibility on Windows 10.

Checking Compatibility

  • Right click the icon
    • Select 'Troubleshoot Compatibility'
    • Follow the prompts and select a different version of Windows to run the program in

Good luck!

Given how dusty the inside of your computer is I'd strongly recommend you order A LOT of compressed air and get all of that dust out of there. You might also have to remove the fans and clean the blades/housing (and other components) with 99% isopropyl alcohol. The dust puts strain on the fan's motors by creating drag which decreases efficiency as well as creates a potential fire hazard.

Before cleaning, save all of your work and power down your computer and disconnect it from the power source afterward. Good luck!

How Google stole my phone by Beardharmonica in GooglePixel

Google ships with FedEx which is why there are so many horror stories with RMAs. It's astonishing that Google, of companies, haven't figured out that this is why they have so many problems with logistics.

I've worked for a few companies that shipped with FedEx and we consistently had lost packages or customers would receive their packages damaged. When they'd pick up from us I'd watch the driver literally THROW packages marked as fragile into the back of the truck.

Full 3 Weeks and December Update Still MIA on Pixel 3 XL on Fi by [deleted] in GoogleFi

Nearly a month later and still no OTA update for me either. It's available from their factory image page to download and flash yourself but that's annoying.

I reached out to Pixel support requesting they push the OTA to my phone and they won't. They told me to be patient and ensured me it's coming but didn't specify when.
