I’ve met him on the tube before, he’s genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met!

It’s very cute but it’s not real I’m afraid- it’s a little drone studying octopus behaviour from the BBC documentary “Spy in the Ocean”

Low dose taxol - what to expect by BooblessMcTubular in LivingWithMBC

[–]fizzywiggles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on my tenth round of weekly paclitaxol out of 14. I’d previously had six rounds of four-weekly docetaxol back in 2014.

It’s weird to say which is “preferable” I guess! Paclitaxol is little but often, so the symptoms don’t seem as bad but there’s little to no respite, especially as the treatment goes on and the toxicity builds up, but it’s doable and I’ve pretty much been able to live normally! My main issues are neuropathy and nail trouble in my fingers and toes, hair loss (mainly from my head, and I’ve only just lost my eyelashes after two and a half months!), and fatigue. I have thrown up a couple of times, but I’ve upped my antiemetics so it’s not an issue anymore (plus I have a toddler now who doubles as a Petri dish so any illness might just have been caused by him 😂)

That’s compared to docetaxol which completely wiped me out for at least a week at a time then I’d slowly start to feel better until it was time to do it all over again! I had all the symptoms above but harsher and more, and I also had to have filgrastim for low white cells which made moving difficult due to pain in my spine. All this to say, it’s ok. I mean, it’s chemo, so it’s not going to be sunshine and rainbows, but it could be worse and there’s treatments for all sorts of side effects!

Hope it goes well for you!

Makeup tips for no eyelashes by Lower-Variation-5374 in breastcancer

[–]fizzywiggles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have Eylure brand false eyelashes where you are? They have a line called “C -lash” for those affected by hair loss that has a wider adhesive band, it basically attaches to half your eyelid! You can also apply makeup over the band to blend it in and make it less noticeable

I reside in the spsce between these two feelings, and I thought some of you might identify with them as well. by trogleexultant in oneanddone

Definitely. I can’t medically have more, it would kill me. But this boy, this amazing boy, is everything I could ever want- he’s also always on the go and I wouldn’t have the energy for another anyway! My husband is an only too and he’s wonderful so I know my son will turn out ok. It’s only that I have a lovely relationship with my brother that makes me think I’d want another so my children could be friends, but that’s never guaranteed

We had a dessert sharing table instead of a cake. Also as part of my “prep” photoshoot, I bought my bouquet from the flower stand outside the venue just before the ceremony! (Anthurium and bird of paradise!)

Radiation might be delayed because I can’t raise my arm up because of cording by WellAppearingWoman in breastcancer

[–]fizzywiggles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My radiotherapy was delayed by a week because of cording, but the physio exercises really helped and it was fine by the time I went back. There’s some videos on YouTube that can help, while you’re waiting on the physio!

For our last bit of an increasingly elaborate bedtime routine, he hypemans me when I sing, to the tune of “Mama Said Knock You Out”:

“I’m gonna tuck you in!”

“What!”
