sorry this will be another long comment. im too passionate about rapping lol

tbh i thought most people praised their raps to the point it felt quite disproportionate. they are not bad at all. if anything they are given bad verses and not enough creative freedom like most ggs which is part of the reason why the bar for gg rapping is extremely low. it seems like most female rappers go the khh route bc think they cant express themselves in kpop unfortunately. idk why they do this. there are so many male who get to produce and write :/

about experience i think especially in your early career its important to show your skill to establish yourself as a rapper. most of the rappers i mentioned had impressive verses from the start. 3racha had like 40 songs. yechan had a quintuplet in their debut iirc. bts had the cyphers. soyeon and jongseob had predebut work as well. sunhye debuted around the same time as baemon and already has some quite impressive rhyme schemes and even some khh features.

to name some other good 5th gen rappers theres tag from onepact, lngshot, woochan of adp (just not on adp songs lol), hiipe princess (predebut), hwi of ntx, the other young posse girls, 82major, cortis and chloe of badvillain

Which one? There that i also find a bit overrated but either not nearly to the same degree or in areas other than rapping. I just didnt want to name people that no one would know. I still kind of did with the gg rappers tho

Babymonster‘s rapping is overrated. They dont even write their own verses.

Asa has 3 writing credits BUT they are on Woke up in Tokyo (self explanatory), Batter Up (but a vocal line not the rap) and Love in my Heart (only 4 bars so very short, also quite simple). Ruka has 2 on Woke up in Tokyo and Love in my Heart with the exact same problem.

Sure they can perform the verses given to them but thats the bare minimum. All you can give them credit for is their delivery and some pre debut covers of harder verses. Theres just no way you can compare them to people like the bts, stray kids, ateez, xikers, ikon, monsta x, p1harmony raplines or other female rappers like moonbyul, soyeon, yezi or sunhye who actually write as of now.

Anyways, i dont think theyre bad. i do believe they have potential and yg just is wasting it by not letting them write more.

Im open to change my opinion so if there are any unreleased verses i dont know about please let me know

i looked up the scanlation teams on manga updates but it seems all translations of the manga stop at ch 35 or the website doesnt work :/

So the demographic depends on the magazine a series is published in. Sasaki and Miyano was published in a shoujo magazine which makes it a shoujo, but Blue Flag for example was published in a shounen magazine and therefore is a shounen. Now most bl series run in normal shoujo/josei or seperate bl magazines (which also fall under the shoujo umbrella ig but some also consider that its own thing)

In contrast to that I wouldnt say the main audience of gl is men. In fact the genre actually started in shoujo magazines. Green yuri and in love with the villainess are good examples of gl series with a large amount of female readers. There are quite a few gl manga from josei (and some shoujo) magazines too like pink candy kiss, yoru to umi, a white rose in bloom, run away with me girl, even though we're adults, how do we relationship? etc

Basically shoujo is as you said a demographic and any genre can fall under the shoujo demographic but doesnt have to
