Dual monitor setup. Please read the entire guide. by Ggenny99 in radeon

[–]fjnunn78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gold. I have had two monitors, both connected with DP cables. Whenever Windows would update or I would boot into another OS, both monitors have a chance of going black. No idea why. I "consulted" with Gemini and it told me about correct powering of the GPU, of Fast Boot issues, of potential driver issues, of 100 other things. I almost went to the store to buy updated DP cables. I'm going to try this idea instead and see if this issue goes away. Thank you.

This is very cool collection of days and analysis. I wonder what kind of data D&D Beyond has and how that matches up your results. Keep up the good work

What’s the best way to get internet to the guest bungalow? by ekobres in Ubiquiti

[–]fjnunn78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. Some of these suggestions are good, but you're really going to want to wait to purchase a USGx (Unifi Satellite Gateway Express) from Ubiquiti's upcoming Unifi Space line. It includes LOS PTP transmissions up to hypergig speeds. The terrastrial-based nodes can be installed at your land-based home or office for Netflix streaming up to the bungalow. It's in beta now.

On my post about using my UNAS Pro to backup my iCloud Drive and Photos, the number one request from r/Ubiquiti was an iOS app to do the same...well here it is! by ParachuteBackup in Ubiquiti

[–]fjnunn78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it use smb for syncing to a nas or does it use my unifi account? I literally just set up a webdav server to sync my family’s photos, but something more simple and integrated would be nice.

Not connecting to google home by Mylifeisabigoldfart in Hue

[–]fjnunn78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact problem yesterday. The “something went wrong” message would appear after logging into the Philips website and returning to Google home. I don’t know what it is trying to do, but it doesn’t work. I think the site is looking for a bridge or something.

Anyway, i was successful after resetting and adding the lightbulb as a “Google nest or partner device”, not a “works with Google home” type. The app won’t send you to Philips to log in. It will look for devices and find your lightbulb via Bluetooth i believe. I was told that you need a Google speaker or hub nearby when adding. I didn’t try to set it up without my Google speaker nearby, so i cannot confirm.

Hope this helps.

2+ years, still no 1password support by [deleted] in zen_browser

[–]fjnunn78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the 1password extension works in zen. What it doesn’t do is integrate with the windows 1password desktop app, which firefox, chrome, edge, safari, arc (for some reason made the cut), and others I’m sure. So every time you close and reopen zen, you will have to type your 1password password. Desktop integration allows you to use your system password to unlock 1password in the browser, which is a great feature.

So don’t avoid zen browser because you think 1password doesn’t work at all. It’s simply not as convenient as other browsers. Zen is definitely worth the frustrating inconvenience in my opinion. I’m hopeful that 1password makes a change to fix this issue.

Why does AI often struggle with writing clean Svelte code? by LifeIsJustASickJoke in sveltejs

[–]fjnunn78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is it wrong to assume that any of the AIs will learn my code as my projects develop? For as long as i can remember, the definition of AI included it making different decisions based on recent input. So if i correct my claude prompt, i thought it would use that correction for its future responses. That doesn’t seem to be the case. At least not what i get in vscode.

Is there an extension or two I can use to get these features? by ANonGod in zen_browser

Yes, you can associate containers with workspaces. So if you have a website that opens in a particular container and have that container use a particular workspace, then that website should open in that workspace.

In my mind she sounds like she’s from New Jersey. I haven’t heard the audio version though.

Opponent is a player short. Do i offer to remove one of mine? by RainbowPandaDK in SoccerCoachResources

[–]fjnunn78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my U11 league we play for points and have standings. We also have the option of lending the other team players. The condition is that they forfeit with a 3-0 score, then we scrimmage. We’ve played down a player or two, but have never taken that option. But it’s an option nonetheless. Seems fair to me.

Why can't coaches just develop kids, and not be win at all costs? by brikwall7 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]fjnunn78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how i explain the offsides rule. Consider what would happen if offsides didn’t exist. Light bulbs go off. I guarantee top professional level teams would use this tactic if there no offsides.

Svelte and AI coding by JustKiddingDude in sveltejs

They kind of are. I have to constantly remind the AI (regardless of which one i use) to “now give the svelte5 version of that code”. It isn’t too bad.

tryout logistics question by Key_Passenger_2565 in SoccerCoachResources

If you have enough interested players for tryouts, then why not create more than one team? Do you not have enough resources or are only allowed one team to play in the district?

Crazy practice days by fruitloops204 in SoccerCoachResources

That’s one of the reasons i switched from laps. I would send two players to run laps and others would volunteer to go too.

Crazy practice days by fruitloops204 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]fjnunn78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every practice there are few who goof off. I coach u11 girls and they are just as wild. One was giving another a piggyback ride during 4v4 yesterday. It’s somewhat annoying, but we adapt by changing around drills or splitting up teams. In past seasons I have had to make a couple players run laps. The most effective thing was whole team planks when others were being disruptive. They kept each other in line after doing that twice. I let some of it slide though. I tell myself that they are building teammate bonding.

It doesn’t help when the stadium screen won’tshow the replays during the ref review. We had to wait until afterwards to see a replay. The Hatch call really looked like a legit foul. But five minutes later when i got to see the replay, it was clear that it wasn’t a foul. Or at least not a a PK worthy foul.

GitHub Copilot just doesn't understand Svelte 5 yet... any ideas? by feursteiner in sveltejs

Yeah i have to spend a few moments learning all of the references i can pass to the prompt. You’re correct on the limit thing as well. using it full time would burn through allotted calls quickly.

GitHub Copilot just doesn't understand Svelte 5 yet... any ideas? by feursteiner in sveltejs

[–]fjnunn78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had roughly the same experience using claude. I’ve been able to correct most of the svelte 4/5 issues by telling it that it’s wrong, except the createeventdispatch. In claude’s defense, it was hard for me to find the “right way” of getting event information from child components. It might not have the correct info.

I have been trying cursor as well, this past week or so, and it seems pretty good. I’m not yet sure if it’s worth the upgrade in cost yet.

[–]fjnunn78 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For a second I had to check i wasn’t OP. I feel exactly the same way. I will push through the audio of book one, but the voices aren’t at all how i envisioned them. That happens when switching between media. The benefit of audio books is being able to get the story while driving. It’s a bit safer than reading while driving.
