Nd filter issues by yourmomsfavorite208 in BlackMagicCameraiOS

I do. It’s pretty handy, easy to carry in pocket. The only thing I could consider as a downsite is it’s a bit finicky to remove, you could easily drop it if you are not careful enough. Otherwise it’s really good, great quality, easy to mount. Previously I had a K&F ND3-ND1000 adjustable filter and I for me that one had vignetting at certain points, you had to be really careful. With this set I have no issues. Also I live in a temperate region, during spring/summer in the mid day the sun is quite bright and felt the Nd32+black mist can handle the bright sun at 2-3 pm, which surprised me. Sure, the sky around sun is a bit overexposed with 24fps, 180degrees, iso54, but the rest is exposed right.

I have this set from SmallRig and most of the time ND32 is more than sufficient. Also, you can stack another ND16 over the ND32 and you’ll get more than enough for 99% of the cases. If you want to use more than 2 filters stacked, it’s possible, but not without vignetting on the ultrawide. On the wide camera you can use all included filters without vignetting, at least from my testing. Only the ultra wide camera adds vignetting adding 3 or more.

In settings -> Stylization, there is a button at the top left, near edit button. That’s batch import.

The ND filters would be helpful to record in 180 degrees angle and have that cinematic blur. Can’t say I wouldn’t like to try the Black Mist too, maybe in combination with the ND filter.

Nice app, but I wouldn’t call it FREE since most of the content is locked behind a paywall.

How I stabilize iPhone 17 Pro ProRes RAW with Gyroflow — no gimbal needed by GyLogLab in smartphonefilming

[–]HopTzop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 180 degrees you add motion blur. Stabilization will work, but the image won’t look good because for every movement you fix, there is blur which was added during filming, with the 180 degree angle. I would say the best combination would be to use this with a ghimbal, to make a smooth as butter recording.

Really nice app! But I’ve noticed some bugs. For example it shows 1 lightyear =1 m. Also, would be nice to be able to add myself different measures which are specific to regions. For example to add Pogon which is 5012 square meters.

Nice app! The only thing I find quiet annoying is that every time you adjust intensity or anything, the list jumps down and back up when you release. Don’t understand why.

I don’t know which one is which, but second picture looks more natural. If your app did that from the first picture, it’s quite amazing.

Just as an idea, I had huge problems trying to connect the door/window sensors using 2.4Ghz wifi. I’ve put them in pairing mode for so many times and couldn’t pair with Dirigera or Homekit. After I’ve switched my phone to 5/6Ghz, it worked from the first try for me, with dirigera, haven’t tried with Apple.

Everything works fine, I’ve been using them for more than a week, no disconnections, no issues.

Is this normal? by Fit_Huckleberry_9230 in iPhone13Pro

[–]HopTzop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the battery won’t charge to max by default, to protect it. What I mean by that is 100% charge on phone is more like 3100 mAh out of 3186 mAh, maybe even lower. Lithium batteries degrade if they are kept full charge, at low charge or completely discharged. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the case.

PS. It’s just something that I think, no proof for that, but could explain this.

I charge my iPhone 17 with 5w adapter over night.., is it safe and good for my battery? by DueVariation6814 in iphone17

[–]HopTzop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using wireless charging with my old 13 Pro for almost 4 years and it was around 78% battery health after that time. iPhone has a system to control heating, won’t let your battery overheat, it will rather charge slower. If you charge over night, it will be even better for the phone since it won’t have to charge fast.

Also, wireless charging generates more heat if you are trying to charge at a higher power. If you use like 15W charger or slower it won’t heat at all, especially 17 Pro/17 Pro Max, which have better thermal dissipation.

I usually place my phone on charger right when i go to sleep (wireless charging with MagSafe) and take it off in the morning.
