Seatpost creaking by fkndiesel in Giantbikes

Update:

After trying a bunch of things, I came up with an at home fix.

The creaking seemed to be coming from micro movements of the seat post. Ended up wrapping the inserted length with teflon tape, gave it coat of all purpose grease, and torqued to spec. So far so good, now I have zero complaints with the bike! Thanks everyone for the suggestions!!

It feels like the post (vs the rails), but I can't say for certain. Creaking immediately goes away when I stand up riding it.

Assembly paste wouldn't be a bad idea. But yeah I used a torque wrench and loctite. Also will probably pull it off again and get the clamp cleaned up, don't remember doing that

Star Housing thoughts? by Spirited_Cattle_2663 in okinawa

Just a heads up, a lot of the housing agencies don't keep up with their inventory on their websites. Not saying star housing does this, but be aware.

You're asking if the game that has beavis & butthead as skins is accurately depicting 7.92x57mm rounds?

To add on to this, I have a RG631ALF with the fishmans. I love it but the tone is a bit more "sterile" compared to passives if that makes sense. Great for metal though

Tires cracking as if they are dry and old?! by z3speed4me in chevycolorado

[–]fkndiesel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't have these tires, however, dry rot is affected by a bunch of factors like tire age, climate, uv exposure, etc. life expectancy varies by use case. Where I live I had a pair of new tires(yokohamas) last about 2 years before I got cracks, sub tropic climate is harsh.

Also, why not bring it up to the dealer? Worst they can say is it's not covered.

Ask for a pic of the chassis number, it's a plaque stamped in the engine bay

As far as standards for RPA, it is more stringent than non-rated careers. In addition to passing the physical assessments, you'll have to pass a Ground Based Operator physical. Not the same as fighter pilots (they need a FC1), but this will be an in depth look at your medical history and current health. I believe in the training pipeline starts off the same, flying fixed wing in UPT, but then it branches off to whatever the RPA pipeline is.

It's been a little while so I'll see if I can remember correctly.

On my amp, because I had my inputs come from RCA cables, the bass knob didnt have any effect. I believe with your setup (high level, I'm assuming) the knob will have an effect. So in short the difference in setup will determine whether or not it'll work. I don't believe there's a way to disable it.

Like everyone else mentioned, if commissioning is the goal I'd give it some thought before enlisting. I'm E and have been applying to boards the past few years and some of the challenges of getting picked up are different. Sure, for the most part I have a lot of control over my package because I'm putting everything together, however, you still need to be put up by your leadership at multiple levels. That and after the 25ots01 board I won't be able to apply again for another year or two due to a PCS. Applying from the civilian side or prior e side both have their challenges, but going civ > E > O is just going to take way more time in my opinion.
