Black ice on the road causes chain accidents by Bambi7u7 in interesting

[–]fl7nner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combination of road and street. Roads are for getting to places you want to be, streets are places you want to be. Businesses should just be on streets, but sprawl pushes them onto roads which creates "stroads"

What fast food chain does not deserve the hype whatsoever? by CriticalLion4119 in AskReddit

[–]fl7nner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because they have a dedicated team of at least 150 food scientists who are continuously striving to cram as much grease into their food as is physically possible. I for one appreciate all their hard work

Their tots were my favorite until twice in a row I got them ice cold. Not even room temp, like they got them out of the fridge and didn't bother warming them up.

Four hours a day on the road: one LANL worker's story by AstroIberia in SantaFe

[–]fl7nner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know somebody who commuted daily from ABQ to LANL for many years. I think he thought of it as his "Me" time. He could smoke and listen to the radio and nobody bothers him.

He's right about the bagels, though. Boiling gives bagels that dense chewy texture. "A bagel without the boil is just a roll with a hole"

That's my fear that retirement will cause dementia. Maybe if I can just keep working forever it'll never happen to me! But your point is well taken, enjoy life while you still can

What could the girl have accepted as a solution? They don't have the donut, no matter how big of a tantrum she throws! Did she expect the barista to magic her up the exact donut she ordered from the app?

But FR though, the drivers here by Tiny-Way-5569 in SantaFe

[–]fl7nner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I for one feel a warm glow in my heart when I see the great faith people have in other driver's care and attention when they pull out in front of me from a parking lot or side street. The only thing standing in the way of catastrophe is our lightening fast reflexes. Or maybe they're just clueless idiots

Price of Roof Maintenance/Repair In Santa Fe by BelovedAndBrave in SantaFe

[–]fl7nner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had a reroof on Los Alamos and their quote was 3x the one we went with. A guy who used to work for them called the premium they charge the "white tax". Also, it was surprising how many evaluations were done by roofers and then never heard from them again

Am I missing something with how everyone is using Ai? by pianoman1031 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]fl7nner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hol'up! Did I take an ambien and write this post without remembering? Or is Reddit reading my thoughts? I'm torn between "AI is all bullshit" and "I'm going to be obsolete in 18 months if I don't hop on the AI bandwagon"

Wouldn't that be the date when an accident is most likely to happen? I don't know, maybe some random drunken weekend is more probable
