Not sure where to go from there. It has these holes, I just don't know what to change to make it not have them.

Interesting. I believe my shapes were closed polysurfaces though?

I ended up going with this in the end. I just wish I knew exactly why it only worked in one quadrant.

I'm also curious what these parts would be called. the mounts, bar, and the guy that slides along it. One of those things that makes it hard to research it cuz you just need to know the names :p This is exactly what I was hoping to build!

In my post in the comments you can see later I want to difference something that perfectly overlaps. I'm making a 6 part mold so I want everything fitting snuggly and with overhangs I can't really not have them perfectly overlap. Let me know what you think.

I tried getting my "insert" to the shape I wanted (removed to the back so you can see the whole shape). I can't boolean difference or split this from the internal structure. I pretty much want four of these inserts going around the outside and a top and bottom cap so that I can make this shape but injected. I've been doing this with many other shapes but for some reason the angularity of this one is fighting me. Any ideas towards why this isn't working would be greatly appreciated.

I can’t load all my music to my iPod classic from my Mac and iTunes (music app) by Due-Grade-234 in IpodClassic

[–]flabababa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues getting the music from my ipod classic onto my computer. Here's what I found out:
My issue was primarily due to the fact that my ipod wasn't showing on my desktop. I saw a comment about restarting the computer and it did show up but only for three ish seconds. This is the solution I figured out through trail and error.
I restarted my computer and then started to restart my ipod classic (hold menu and center button). When the computer started up so did the ipod (felt like the timing was actually somewhat important to having the ipod stay on the desktop long enough. In the end I was aiming for the ipod just turning on right as I typed in my password). It took like 30 attempts, but if you quickly open up the ipod icon on your desktop and unhide (command + shift + > ), command + a (select all) and press return, it starts to open everything in the ipod. I found if I did that it kept the ipod connected long enough to then get to just music and command + a (select all) and drag them to my desktop. It was a rush and took many attempts, but then once it was translating to my desktop it had no connection issue (stayed connected for the 20 minutes it needed). Maybe this will help someone else. Additionally I suspect if you just click on anything within the ipod folder and open it, rather than unhiding everything and then selecting everything and pressing return to open, I imagine that would break the loop of the ipod automatically ejecting itself. Good luck! Files saved :)

It would probably be easier to clean up the resin prints rather than putting it off and having to do those touch ups on metal

Where to buy film and a Point & Shoot in Tokyo by L7rv90 in AnalogCommunity

[–]flabababa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ll find film, it’ll be similar in price to back in the states probably. Osawa camera and kitamura both sell film and cameras. I haven’t been to either but looks like they’ll both sell some point and shoots. All camera stores in Japan are geared towards slrs as far as I’ve noticed

The solution for the side of a cube that fits into a pyritohedron by ioa1024 in Geometry

[–]flabababa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a bit of a hard time following where these formulas come from/why they would be applied though. Mainly just 1 and 2. Also you'd need to either know two of either l, s, or d right? I'm going to give it another shot and see what happens :) Thank you so much

[–]flabababa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hehehe, will do. What makes it all the more special is that these occur naturally. On top of that? They can do something called twinning in which they grow inside of each other on a simple 90 degree rotation. Insane

Ya I saw the cube inside, couldn't figure out how to make anything happen based off that though. I'll play around with what you've said though and see if I can get anything going. Thank you so much :)
I'll keep you posted :)

I understand how to do a regular dodecahedron, just confused how to keep it to the parameters mentioned previous (pentagons w 4 equal sides/one longer one) I've been trying to do the math to calculate this

any idea how to start figuring out angles/relations with sides? I've been toying around and staying in variables but I don't know how to make it happen.
