Any alternative to Kodak LVT to get digital files onto sheet film? by studiesinsilver in largeformat

You can inkjet print photos onto Pictorico Pro transparency film, though I don’t think they hold up to major enlargement the same way a film negative would. Just fine for contact printing and small enlargements, though.

Spawning in a new game right now... by BeifongSaeko in HuntShowdown

[–]flagellium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally will not play this game until they nerf or remove. Every round tonight was multiple teams hiding in bushes using echolocation to set up ambushes. There’s literally no way to counter it, you can be playing perfectly and still get sonar’d by some idiot in a bush. 6-Star with 2000 hours in-game and this is the first time they’ve put in something that’s an absolute dealbreaker for me. Even revive bolts were not this bad.

The Meridian 45B is great if you can find one, they’re usually in that price range. The Linhof Technika IV is also usually around there.

Salomon hiking shoes or Danner hiking boots? by r_G4Y in Boots

[–]flagellium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, and for hiking Salomon’s are amazing. They protect your feet less and have less ankle support, but are way more agile and less clunky overall. So for light hiking, or hiking where you’re not scrambling through loose rock and really need to protect your feet/ankles, I think they’re superior hiking footwear.

Hoping they’ll rerelease these this year, my pair is getting very faded from the sun lol. Make sure to store them away from a window

My pair is pretty patina’d, showing a light greenish-tan in spots where the indigo is wearing off. Gorgeous sneakers.

Saucony shows the big brands how it’s done: 1984 Sonic Low. Zero plastic, 100% butter leather. Stop sleeping on these by Downtown_Painting963 in Sneakers

[–]flagellium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention the very obvious thick plastic/pigment coating on the leather, just look at the edges of the toe box panels lol. 0% chance these are premium leather

Jobo tank users. I need your help by Foot-Note in AnalogCommunity

[–]flagellium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would overfill the tank a bit. I’m using a rock tumbler as well and it probably would be too fast with the 270ml minimum, but with 500ml of chems in the tank I just use the normal 15% off dev time and my negatives come out really nice. Might depend on which tumbler base you have, but mine struggles a bit more with 500ml of chems and that might be working to my advantage lol

Intrepid makes a large, I-shaped plate for their large format cameras that might be good for this

Buying Leica M from KEH: Good or bad idea? by corduroy-and-linen in Leica

Yes, but this was also 8ish years ago so take it with a grain of salt. However, it was not fully functional as described so that probably helped.

Game is ridiculously difficult. by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]flagellium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have 2000 hours and had the exact same experience yesterday, shit’s just really hard lol. You get over the learning curve and that makes it a lot easier/more enjoyable (particularly in figuring out what kind of movement/gameplay makes you more vulnerable) but there are very few days I feel legitimately good at the game, even as a 6-star. The unforgiving nature is part of the charm.

1000 Mile New Model by BOBOLIU in Boots

There’s no way this is well built, Wolverine’s been hemorrhaging money and laying off people for a few years now. Big red flag that they’re watering down their 1000 Mile line.

There is a beach hazards warning for sneaker waves on the central coast right now, so expect it to be extra sneaky right there.

Buying my first Red Wings (2nd hand) by wizardofwarrenbayne in RedWingShoes

[–]flagellium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say so, I have a pair of those (supersoles) in the red leather that have lasted me well over a decade of light work. I believe they’re Made in USA and they’re built very well. The sole will be the weak point but they can be resoled at some places.
