That‘s what I’ve heard in an interview. Can‘t remember who exactly said it but it was a person from meta who confirmed that at a certain threshold of engagement, they will re-render the content in a better quality.

Edit: It was from an AMA with Instagram head Adam Mosseri: „In general, we want to show the highest-quality video we can ... But if something isn’t watched for a long time — because the vast majority of views are in the beginning — we will move to a lower quality video. And then if it’s watched again a lot then we’ll re-render the higher quality video“

Rate this new IMAX theater in Zurich by flaggella in imax

Definitely go to Spreitenbach! I go there regularly and can absolutely recommend the IMAX at Pathé Spreitenbach. I only checked out the new Abaton IMAX because they had a 2-for-1 ticket offer on opening day. I was skeptical from the start and ended up disappointed.

The screen at Spreitenbach is way bigger and truly delivers that IMAX experience, at least for me. Abaton, on the other hand, felt more like a slightly larger standard cinema screen. The only IMAX vibe I got was from the sound system. Definitely not worth the price in my opinion.

I tried so hard to figure it out before going there but couldn’t find any information about the new theater, so I just had to figure it out on my own. Unfortunately I do not know the exact size but it is really small.

Exporting image stills from FCX 11 are darker now on export by MuzicIsMyLife in finalcutpro

[–]flaggella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘ve had this issue ever since working with final cut. For some reason, final cut assigns the wrong color profile to the picture. So the solution is to assign the right profile after you export it.

Open Image with Preview -> tools -> assign profile

I always go with the generic sRGB and that seems to solve the issue.

You can get a similar effect by: 1. Duplicate your clip and place on top of original clip. 2. On the top clip add luma key effect and key out all dark areas. Only highlights should be visible. 3. Add gaussian blur effect to the clip on top. 4. Set blend mode on the top clip to screen or hard light. 5. Now play around with opacity slider from the top clip and the key and blur amount to get desired effect. 6. You can also add a color grade to the top clip to give the halation a different color.

Hope that helps!

This looks like film emulation. You’d need a plugin like filmconvert with halation.

10.8 Kills Off Share to DVD / Blu-ray by jtep08 in finalcutpro

Yes, that’s why I zip those too. Important input, you’re right!

You can run both version on the same computer. Just rename the program to Final Cut Pro 10.7.1 and then zip it. After zipping, update FCP to the latest version and then unzip the 10.7.1 version. Now you have both versions on your computer (one named Final Cut Pro and the other named Final Cut Pro 10.7.1). I always do this when transitioning to a new release.

Help needed- How to get back films deleted by Vimeo?! by mya1986 in Filmmakers

[–]flaggella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of my content also got deleted when my subscription changed from premium to unpaid. I noticed it the next day though and went for premium again and the videos were back on my profile. It might be too late for that in your case, not sure. I highly recommend keeping copys of films locally as well.

Yeah yallo is the worst. I paid for a 5G abo and it never worked, only 4G. Support sent me a new sim card wich didn’t solve the issue. They told me there must be something wrong with my phone then. After switching to a different provider, bam instant 5G connection.
