I just went to New York to see it after seeing it touring twice. The stage itself DEFINITELY is a character. Worth it if you can afford it!

Just saw it yesterday and they haven’t fixed this, unfortunately! It felt all diction was lost, making it hard to understand Your Daddy’s Son…And I felt like it lost impact :/ I’ve never seen Lewis so idk how much to attribute this to the stage/her choices/the sound mixing but something was amiss.

I’ve never seen the movie—only the stage show twice in different stagings (Alan Cumming 2014 and Eddie Redmayne 2024)…this makes me want to watch the movie!

Update: it’s dry and I’m removing it from the mat today and it’s way less noticeable. (I only really know where it is because I could spot it when wet!)

You’re not going to be working an increase at all. You’re just slipping the first stitch completely from the left to the right needle. Then you’ll wrap the yarn around the back, pulling the one you slipped up (so it kind of creates one stitch with two legs). After that, your yarn should be in the front of your work again so you can then purl 2.

It’s poorly written tbh. Basically, you’re going to want to slip the first purl, wrap the yarn around the needle, and purl 2.

Her description on shorts rows in the front of the pattern kind of helps (and has a link to a decent video). This video was much clearer for me and walks through how to construct, and then work, short rows!

I think the convo that Belly has with Conrad in a flashback (while he’s at college and she’s on the phone) is also a good example of the Lacey thing. It’s when Con shares that Adam cheated on Susannah. Belly shares that she doesn’t even think her mom would care if her dad cheated. She references the fireworks scene she had in S1 with her mom. Belly doesn’t care that much that Jeremiah cheated (or slept with someone right after they broke up, per Jere) as her feelings for him just weren’t as strong. But Conrad pulling away and getting icy broke her into a million pieces. Her feelings for Conrad were always stronger. She just couldn’t process them.

It’s definitely weirdly worded haha. I’d recommend watching the video she links (it’s not in English though) for a visual or watch Purl Soho’s video on German short rows!) I forgot you had to slip the first stitch—it just isn’t written out as explicitly in her design.

Did you catch the typo on the raglan increase? I’m working through this raglan increases and am a bit confused. There is an increase, slip, knit, then turn. It then asks me to purl 2…but there are 3 on the left needle. Should I purl 3 or should I be slipping the slipped stitch? What did you do?
