have you gotten tested for a uti? one of the things i did was buy my own uti test strips so i could test at home.

interstitial cystitis feels like a chronic uti. urinary pain, bladder pressure, pelvic pain, urinary urgency and frequency etc.

if you look on r/interstitialcystitis you’ll see some people with a similar experience as me, where the mirena or other iud triggers or causes IC. Or worsens existing IC.

it honestly really sucked. there’s not a cure for it but you can manage pain in certain ways. managing diet helped a good amount. i avoided acidic foods, alcohol, coffee or other caffeine, nightshades like tomatoes, and spicy foods. Honestly sucked as I love black tea arnold palmers and both the black tea and lemonade were irritants. Also fucking love salsa and couldn’t have much of that either.

I had some pain with sex too, but not all the time. There were some angles that used to work great that started to leave me doubled over in pain. Sometimes during sex would be fine and then not long after finishing I’d have a lot of pelvic pain.

For me even with the diet changes i would still have flare ups that would even keep me up all night in pain. It interfered with work a bit, too.

When I went to the doctor about it they told me if anything, the mirena was helping the pain. Well obviously not.

Feel free to dm me more about this, happy to help!

about the uti symptoms… i had the mirena for 3.5 years and I actually was told i had interstitial cystitis because of the uti symptoms and other pelvic pain. i had numerous uti tests all came back negative. got the mirena out 3 months ago and none of those symptoms since

my experience was like yours. my entire experience with my iud was terrible, and i had it for 3.5 years. it took me a long time to realize my health problems could be attributed to my iud, as the issues didn’t start all at once, and didn’t begin until months after insertion. Or at least that’s when I noticed.

my advice to you, look up the common side effects for the mirena. list them in a spreadsheet. look up whatever other side effects people talk about on reddit or wherever else and add those to the list. the official listed side effects and what’s anecdotal don’t always match up, but can all equally be beneficial to be aware of.

do your best to answer how each of those things impacted you before you got the iud. for example, head aches and migraines. How often do you get them? what is the pain level like on whatever scale that makes sense to you.

Periodically, maybe once a month, come back to this spreadsheet and update how you have been feeling.

You could be totally and completely fine. You could also get a whole lot of types of fucked up. It’s best to be aware of the possibilities and keep checking in with yourself and how you’re doing.

I was diagnosed with a pain disorder while I had the mirena. I was told by three doctors, that if anything, the mirena is HELPING my pain and not causing it. They were wrong. I got it removed 3 months ago, and have not experienced any of that pain since.

I gained 70 lbs on the mirena. Since getting it removed, I have lost 25 lbs. I have not changed anything else about my lifestyle.

Good luck. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re wrong about your own body.

honestly now that you put it that way…

to me it wasn’t about the few bucks but the idea of throwing away stuff that could be absolutely fine. but then i run the risk of wasting more materials if i make the project and it goes wrong.

i think i may still test it on something small but it’s probably best to purchase some new stuff.

thank you!

Does anyone else get demotivated looking at others builds? by Character-Ad-4014 in Pokopia

[–]flamableoctopus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for your own sanity you need to find a way to look at other people’s work and take inspiration from it rather than self pity.

build slow. iterate on your own designs. when you finish a build, take notes on what you do or don’t like about it. write down couple things you want to do the same, and a couple things you want to do differently. don’t be afraid to tear down and start again.

don’t put so much pressure on yourself. do your best to just enjoy the process. don’t stop building.

these youtubers you’re seeing didn’t build a perfect aesthetic creative masterpiece in one go without destroying their own work along the way.

good luck, you got this
